these are segregationists.

they're propagandists first and law professors second so they probably do not care. the people who should actually be embarrassed are the supposedly liberal professors who were going to bat for their intellectual honesty and integrity. operating on a level of a dog that understands tone, not words

Unreal. The US government is dumping Asian and African families and children in random countries that they have no connection to. Dumping, not "deporting." Deportation implies the return of a person to their home country. This is treating people like toxic waste. www.cbsnews.com/news/us-depo...

They could stream on YouTube every evening at the same time. People would know that there was a daily recap and tune in when they could.

Her story has shaken up metro Detroit. It's very cold up here and she didn't get the help she needed even after calling the city and multiple agencies. She, her mom, and her kids slept in a van. Ran out of gas. Her 9 year old & 2 year old died from hypothermia. I can't stop thinking about her. 💔

While others like Harvard Law Professor Noah Feldman have already disgraced themselves by telling us everything is OK

The American Bar Association has just called upon every attorney, regardless of their political views, to join them & stand up for the rule of law & at minimum insist that our government "follow the law." Every lawyer has an ethical responsibility to do so. www.americanbar.org/news/abanews...

Fulton Assessors undervalue Ponce City Market by at least $700M - costing us $12M / yr in lost tax. 100s more trophies like it. But they hound low-income heirs of modest homes for a few thousand that they can't afford? Really? Strong reporting. #GApol www.wabe.org/fulton-count...

Good morning, “there’s no going back” (gift link: www.nytimes.com/2025/02/05/o...)

This @washingtonpost.com story is so important that I'm gifting it. These people appear to be operating totally illegally and outside the Constitution -- and they know it. wapo.st/40LVERn

My god NBC isn't covering it, the AP isn't covering it, is anyone covering elected Democrats doing a goddamn protest?

For friends who are in the federal government, this is a very good guide on why you should be using Signal. In short, it’s safe and it’s free! a.wholelottanothing.org/a-guide-to-u...

My local town subreddit has becomes a nonstop ICE resistance machine. People are posting tips, location sightings and updates all day. Attorneys are there volunteering and city councilmembers are in there helping and taking feedback on how to resist It’s beautiful.

NLRB General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo is officially OUT, bringing an end to the labor board's Biden era. If the agency doesn't fulfill its mandate under Trump, Abruzzo says, "I expect that workers... will take matters into their own hands." www.nlrb.gov/news-outreac...

I want everyone to understand that rescission of 1965 antidiscrimination orders is literally resegregation and for reporters in the room to press them accordingly also the gall of revoking the *Equal Employment Opportunity* directive. man affirmatively said 'I want unequal employment opportunities'

ADL: these college kids setting up tents on lawns to protest a genocide are antisemites ADL: so about the richest man in the world sieg heiling — yea the one who endorsed the AfD in Germany — that was just an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, every one calm down & give each other grace

NYT journalist the other day on here: We are going to do tough accountability pieces on Trump and his administration: The NYT today: Oh, let’s give a prominent platform to another fascist supporting Trump.

The symbolism of a homeless man killed by city workers in an effort to make MLKs church more amenable to tourists visiting on MLK day should not be overlooked. I'll be following up on this. www.ajc.com/news/crime/u...

Just FYI, administrative warrants (like the ones used by ICE) are not judicial warrants (used by cops, signed by a judge). You do NOT legally have to open the door for an ICE officer with an administrative warrant *no matter what the ICE officer says.*

Yesterday, across from Ebenezer Baptist Church—just days before MLK Day, when crowds will gather to honor justice and equality—a homeless man was killed during an encampment sweep by an Atlanta city vehicle. These sweeps are cruel, brutal, and utterly counterproductive in addressing homelessness.

This is a story I've been waiting to read. It's incredibly satisfying — to the point of tears — to finally read something that reflects the reality that I personally know to be true. www.latimes.com/california/s...

In Florida, a 15-year-old girl was the subject of a police investigation that involved armed officers asking her teammates if they had ever seen her nude and a 500-page report detailing changes in her body weight and notes from her guidance counselor--all because she wanted to play volleyball

Greetings from Hoth-lanta. So quiet! It's been very nice to have a break from hearing revved-up cars blasting by. Moments like this are a reminder: cities aren't noisy, cars are.

i’m kind of amazed at how this is just the crudest, most obvious n****rbaiting you can imagine. “the people you don’t like, yeah, they are responsible for everything bad.” and it works!

Starbucks just gave baristas a paltry 30 cent an hour raise, while shelling out $57,000 an HOUR for their celebrity CEO. Are you insulted? Us too! Our union is organizing for better wages, and we need YOU to get in the fight. Join us: sbworkersunited.org/take-action/

Over 51,000 asylum-seekers have arrived in Chicago since Texas Gov. Greg Abbott began busing migrants to sanctuary cities. To help prepare them for the Midwest winter, Margie Chan launched 500 Hats for Refugees in September 2023. chicago.suntimes.com/news/2024/11...

So much of what has been said post election re trans rights has been ahistorical, self serving and just plain dumb. @gbbranstetter.bsky.social does better. open.substack.com/pub/autonomy...
