Need a special prosecutor to investigate whether Vance, Hegseth and Waltz broke Espionage Act and record- keeping laws.

Senate Democrats had the power to shut down Trump’s government but were afraid to use it. The word “collaborators” comes to mind.

Elon needs to send all Americans an email with the five reasons the rocket exploded or he’s fired.

"Persons who make private determinations of the law and refuse to obey an order generally risk criminal contempt even if the order is ultimately ruled incorrect." --SCOTUS (1975)

www.cbsnews.com/news/ice-pla... this is a plan to Impress dim witted MAGA cultists and click happy media not THANK GOD to deport 11 M… he has no plan so far to do the latter which is just fine with me

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in his farewell address: "You know, I was taught at West Point to pray that I would 'choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong.' And I have tried every day as Secretary to live up to that teaching." It's a prayer for America right now.

Resist. Starting with the mass deportations.

In light of reports of a planned large-scale immigration raid next week to begin Trump’s mass deportations, I think you’ll find this conversation on complexities of immigration policy and enforcement, with @reichlinmelnick.bsky.social, instructive. conversationswithbillkristol.org/conversation...

Scary times ahead. But rejoice that we are confident the results of the election will be respected. We need to do better. We need to do better getting Democratic voters to vote. We need to do better generating and messaging new ideas to improve the economy and reduce inequality. 1/2

Unsurprisingly, Judge Merchan denies Trump’s request to put off sentencing. We’re off to the appellate courts. It will be interesting to see if SCOTUS, when they finagle their way there, wants to listen.

Never let those who want to change history -- you know, the way the Confederates did after the Civil War -- succeed. They were wrong then -- doing the dirty work of the dirtiest president of all time -- and they will be wrong forever. Never forget January 6, 2021.

this urge to launder rfk jr. as “just a guy who is right about a few things” is such a perfect example of how liberals are people who won’t take their own side in a fight

Why does Trump want to give millions of government workers more paid days off?

Why is Trump trying to repeal the debt ceiling? How much crazy spending - and additional debt - is he planning?

Republicans have used public concern about Social Security’s future solvency as a cynical excuse to demand cuts in benefits. But Social Security could easily pay everything it will owe to everyone for the next 75 years if the cap on income subject to SS taxes were eliminated. Let me explain.

Scaring is caring.

I really hope the anger that is being manifested toward health insurance companies turns into 2026 Democratic Congressional candidates supporting a national health system that squeezes profit out and focuses on wellness and effective care. That will be a winning platform.

There’s no such thing as working productively with MAGA nihilists like Elon, Vivek and RFK, Jr. They want to bring down our Republic. Don’t normalize them by pointing out a few of their good ideas. You can’t play nice with the leopards. Let them into your house and they will eat your face.

The President is now largely immune. What could/should Joe Biden do? Trump is going to take advantage of that immunity. Why not Joe?

Discussing blanket pardons draws us off of the real issue, the concern that Trump will pervert the criminal justice system & use DOJ as a political tool, which is forcing the Biden administration into these considerations. Don't forget why we're here.

Medicare - and any Medicare for All system - involves review and approval of providers’ prescriptions. The problem with our current system is the review and approval is being done with a profit motive. It’s the motive, not the existence of review and approval, that causes the bad outcomes.

This is truly the best legal advice we can give.

President Biden should issue sweeping pardons for anyone and everyone Trump may go after. Thousands if not tens of thousands of politicians, journalists, election workers, etc. The justice system is about to get more corrupt than usual. Democrats need to protect our own.

Be aware that Mark Zuckerberg met yesterday with Trump at Mar-a-Lago. Wonder if a change in policies is likely.

On point.

How can one Macy’s employee hide $154 million in expenses? Is this credible? Trump’s OMB should hire him/her. There will be lots of Blue Smoke and Mirrors coming out of the Trump administration in the months and years to come.

The Justice Department has a "longstanding policy" that sitting presidents cannot be prosecuted. This is inherently incompatible with "Equal Justice Under Law" prominently displayed on the SCOTUS building. Hopefully, charges will await Trump when he leaves office in 2029. I'm not optimistic.

To the (inexplicably) hack-averse journalists: Just to be absolutely clear, this hacked material is obviously newsworthy and any journalism outfit that gets its hands on it has a professional obligation to publish the true and newsworthy material from it. www.nytimes.com/2024/11/19/u...

Excellent list. I'm familiar with a lot of their work, and to be clear it's not "a bystander sketching the decline of reproductive rights" stuff, it's vital "here's the battlefields ahead and what we need to do now."

This is the shot of the night. Chuck Schumer is filing cloture on several judicial nominations. The Republicans are forcing them to go into executive session separately for each nomination. Schumer and the Democrats are just pushing ahead. Here was Schumer before the 10th vote, by my count, began.

Probably unconstitutional but with the corrupt Trump court who knows. May need civil disobedience to stop this fascist.

it's official — 1,000,000 people have joined Bluesky in just the last day!!! welcome and thank you for being here 🥳

it's a bit hard to convey how big of a deal this is, but the most basic, most fundamental black letter law we have is that immigration is a federal matter. every reason to believe a court that issues this ruling is operating without any guardrails.
