"The 2024 election wasn’t a restaurant where you could order cheaper eggs but politely ask for the server to hold the fascism. You’re still getting the fascism, and your eggs aren’t just overpriced now, they’re broken and rotten." -- @playtyperguy.com

Trump has done the same damage to our health, environment and security as to our markets, it's just that there isn't a stock ticker that measures the impact so clearly

The good news is, even when the economy goes to shit we will still have RFK Jr in charge of public health and Hegseth with the nuke codes.

Bates: He inherited an economy that was the best-performing in the world. But in just two months, he’s crashing that economy with the biggest tax increase on middle-class families in 50 years—raising the prices he promised he would lower, and breaking his number one promise to them.

Are we feeling healthy, wealthy and wise yet? And to think that Trump attended the University founded by Benjamin Franklin. The Trump administration’s policies are probably not what Franklin, an inventor, scientist, diplomat and statesman, had in mind for the US.

FT: “.. Economists also attacked Trump’s obsession with reducing bilateral trade deficits to zero as economically illiterate .. for example, the US cannot grow its own bananas.” 🍌 @financialtimes.com www.ft.com/content/85d7...

Wild story: the acting Social Security chief was warned that terminating data collection contracts with Maine would increase fraud. But he responded that it didn't matter because it was more important to punish Maine's governor for disagreeing with Trump. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/...

Crusius believed he was acting at the direction of Trump when he murdered 23 people and wounded 22 others at an El Paso Walmart in 2019, his defense lawyer told El Paso Matters He thought he had to stop the invasion because that’s what his president was telling him elpasomatters.org/2025/03/30/p...

They spent a decade screaming that they will not be silenced, yet now all the free speech warriors are CHOOSING to be quiet. Interesting.

I can’t believe this has to be said, but: You cannot tell the story of Jackie Robinson—as a ballplayer, serviceman, or human—without discussing our country’s history of racism. From Around the Horn:

My dear friend’s niece, who in October developed sepsis when a Georgia hospital refused her a D&C after a miscarriage, will be taken off life support tomorrow. I don’t know the names of the countless others who have suffered and will suffered because of anti-abortion laws. But her name was Haley.

Totally agree. Tragically, most in the Trump cult won’t care or believe it but we have to keep trying.

Just listened to yesterday’s EPA videos. No longer does the EPA care about the environment. Its priorities are unleashing energy and lowering costs. cars will cost less because they don’t have to meet air pollution standards. Actually, scratch that, those polluting cars will cost more due to tariffs

Zelensky did mismanage his White House visit. Not because he was wrong — he’s totally in the right — but because he addressed Trump as though he were an ally. Trump is a Putin-friendly mercenary. You can’t speak with moral candor to such a person if you want something from him. Shameful, but true.

Crockett: When you're at war, you’re not worried about your outfit. If he was walking around in the fanciest suits, I'm sure that they would accuse him of taking our dollars and spending it on his wardrobe

📸 No one follows more etiquette rules than the Royal Family—but notice how King Charles didn’t make any smart-ass or demeaning comments about Zelensky’s attire today. Why? Because respect isn’t about clothes—it’s about character. And that’s something money can’t buy.

What drives me crazy about the anti-DEI rhetoric is everyone wants to be judged on merit. But you can't be judged on merit if you can't even get in the door because you don't fit some prejudiced definition of who is capable and who isn't
