Out of curiosity, this happens to be connected in any way with your E-Redes issue you were posting about earlier? I mean, they can be difficult to get a hold of, but still a stretch before going Jason Bourne on them.

Many years ago (+-30?) there was this notion among management that it was difficult to reward top engineers and researchers with promotions because they didn't want to leave the "actual" work and lab environments. And it's precisely because of what you described. Guess there isn't a magic bullet yet

Dense and disingenuous doesn't begin to describe the logic behind the proposal. Especially if you consider there is also a more aggressive rhetoric against adversaries that, if nothing else, makes CISA even more necessary. Is there a facepalm+darwin award that can be used here?
