Pringles tube, long time ago. More recently caught our eldest trying to smoke an unground bud in a bus ticket which was pretty funny.

The Dunning-Kruger curve of one's career is composed of many smaller Dunning-Kruger curves, one for each project. A Dunning-Kruger harmonic superposition if you like.

@piratesoftware.live has a really good short YouTube video on this topic, I don't have a link handy but if you can find it he gives great advice and has a wealth of experience.

Love this, any chance of a widget version for phones & tabs? 🙏

Nothing novel about this, it's just where I live at. Also applies to non-funny posts :)

Thanks all the same :) have you checked out the #electronics feed? Lots of RasPi right now because of the new release but much of it is not!

Absolutely, the manufacturers themselves often get this stuff wrong in documentation also. The lesson I've learned is: always get a sample if you can :)

Is there any change if you rotate the jacks in their sockets? It's very common for these to stop working because of dust/dirt.

Wouldn't want to bend one of those legs

In my experience this sort of behaviour suggests a loose connection at either end of the wire, or if you're using solid core it may be broken internally. As David says it could be a lot of things.

I'd start by replacing caps 218, 219 and 243 but there may be some damage to the pads, could just be surface corrosion.

Sounds like a loose connector or solder joint on the edge you're applying pressure, rather than a bad cap. Depending on the specific display model, your ability level, and how much it's worth to you; this may be repairable by reseating or resoldering the connection. God speed fellow tech warrior!

Wait til you search "Willekulla" this thing goes DEEP

It looks a little overdone round the edges there, but judging by the headers and usb port I'd wager it was a small microcontroller board, maybe for an ATTiny or similar.

To shreds you say?
