The BBC radio broadcast of Opera North's 2025 presentation of Weill-Lerner's Love Life (that will be the basis for the show's first-ever cast album) is available to stream. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

LEADERSHIP.

maybe people wouldn’t be idolizing luigi mangione if we hadn’t been shown time and again — in the financial crisis, the opioid crisis, the current constitutional crisis — that powerful people can get away with indiscriminately destroying lives without any legal repercussions whatsoever

Michael Bennett’s A Chorus Line!! I’m playing right, aren’t I?

Oh hell yes! #EastEnders

We’re in a timeline where I agree with Mike Pence 🤯

Democracies rely on educated citizens to function and, as a result, they seek to invest in both education (schools) and information (public media, research, etc). Dictatorships rely on the opposite—ignorant subjects—and so invest in neither.

This is why you fight these cowards. The moment you stand up to them, they crumble. Homan has nothing. The Fourth Amendment is clear and I am well within my duties to educate people of their rights. He can threaten me with jail and call names all he wants. He’s got nothing else.

Imagine what could have been had SAY HELLO TO HARVEY made it to Broadway. Patricia Routledge very well could have won the Tony she deserved. Hats off to the birthday girl! youtube.com/watch?v=IXAX...

The power of Dame Patricia Routledge, who turns 96 today: she stopped Leonard Bernstein & Alan Jay Lerner's devastating flop 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in its tracks, playing two first ladies at the same time in "Duet for One" The climax from the soundboard (where the ovation clocks in at 68 seconds)

it’s spectacular how everything wrong in my life is because of 14 billionaires.

Fact check: nearly 70 percent of US money for Ukraine actually went to US defense industry to replenish the stocks of OLD stuff that went to Ukraine to use. Much of which we would have paid to destroy as their lifespan expired.

Sometimes it’s the “unsuccessful” shows that remind me how much I love musical theatre. The idea that the DNA of a perfect show exists if someone just put together the *right* production is intoxicating. I think the ephemeral nature of the medium has only served to feed the legend of certain shows.

Restarting this one, because I missed it the first time and I love these! 10 Musicals to get to know me: 1. Gypsy 2. Mack & Mabel 3. Follies 4. Wicked 5. Xanadu 6. Sunset Blvd 7. City of Angels 8. Dear World 9. Grey Gardens 10. Dreamgirls

Good morning to this man, and this man only #bbcqt

Because of the major overhaul Chess received before its Broadway debut, “1956: Budapest is Rising” segued into “Someone Else’s Story” rather than “Nobody’s Side” as in the original production. But in this clip from a 1989 concert in Skellefteå, Sweden, we hear Judy Kuhn sing the original sequence.

Madonna teases new music: “I’m putting my heart and soul into my new music and I can’t wait to share it with you!! Confessions Part 2.”

Severance S2 references “The Lexington Letter”; this was some extra-curricular lore posted between seasons one and two (that I hadn’t come across before) severance.wiki/severance-_t...

Sabrina Carpenter graces the cover of Vogue Magazine.

nothing infuriates me more than this

Tesla earned $2.3 billion in the United States in 2024. You'd think it paid a lot in taxes, right? Well it paid precisely $0 in federal income taxes last year. You want waste and fraud? Look at what some big corporations and the rich are getting away with.

Friday Feelings

Only 50 days until the clocks change and we won’t believe how light it is.

My brain can't stop singing this to the tune of Rehab.

To be honest, I feel frequently overwhelmed by the sheer hell of ‘everything’ right now. If you’re feeling the same way, here’s some snowdrops to remind you that every winter ends eventually. Take good care of yourself. ❤️
