That actually makes it worse. There are plenty of ways to structure a deal that gets a similar result, without resorting to extortion. Process matters, which is why you wouldn’t give me a 50% share in your companies simply because I threatened to give you neighbors a gun and cut your phone lines.

These are people who are, as a rule, willing to protect national security even under extreme duress. You do them a disservice with this take, because you lack the moral fiber to understand what their commitment means to them. The people who would flip for $ already do, and they’re a fraction of a %.

Ok, first of all that’s clearly a you problem, and secondly your behavior is inappropriate for any poster with any audience size. You’re not making helpful suggestions, you’re moralizing and acting like a soft authoritarian, which is ridiculous.

I read what he posted, he’s right and you’re wrong, in the sense that you’re trying to impose your own preferences on others instead of being content to moderate your own Bluesky experience to your liking.

You don’t need money; you just need to be smart enough to spoof an email or text to him from Musk and he’ll do whatever you ask.

I promise, I’ll put significantly more thought into meeting their needs than Rove put into this article.

Maybe Trump is thinking a dozen moves ahead, and maybe Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel are about to surprise me with a threesome.

I want to see what the E-4 mafia does before I accept that the DoD is going to be destroyed.

Oh hey, what a great time to post the seal of the state of Virginia, which isn’t at all relevant to the current situation.

Question from the peanut gallery, what’s the dynamic between count breadula and garlic bread? Is VanHellsing gonna get retconned as a server at Olive Garden?

Let’s not forget, the service Intel centers are a thing, and largely staffed by DA Civilians. So, if your unit is doing anything where you need Intel support, you’re gonna have a bad time with those degraded.

I know several people who went from contractor to GS in the last year, saving the government money while also securing a bunch of institutional knowledge, who are now asking me if my company has any openings coming up because of this news.

If you’re so rich that you never take public transportation, and you have the intellectual curiosity of a pool noodle, then it makes sense that you wouldn’t know what a 3rd rail is and why you shouldn’t touch one.

“I, a nominally sane person, wouldn’t do those things, therefore the deranged authoritarian and his cabinet of freaks will also not try to do those things, despite their established pattern of trying to do the crazy things they say they want to do. I am very smart.”

This is why I’d rather slather myself in bbq sauce and jump into the lion enclosure at the zoo than try to argue with you about the law.

Also, it’s almost certainly way more difficult today to have that many kids and care for them well.

Oh, I’m privilege as fuck, no argument there. I make a good steel man counterpoint against the broad claim though, which is why used my experience as an example. I also knew several farming families who had 13 healthy, well cared for, fulfilled kids. Their parents sacrificed way more than mine.

So is American society, capitalism, communism, small families where no one is likely to report abuse, etc etc. The original point, which you’re arguing in support of, is max’s statement that all families with 13 kids have neglect and abuse in them, and that simply isn’t true.
