The political juggernaut that members of Congress from both parties cower in fear of - already heading back to his familiar territory of low 40s approval one month into his presidency www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

dems could pressure hochul to force adams out, forcing a week-long news cycle about donald trumps very obvious corruption or they could also do nothing and send a fundraising email

A lot of people now see that Musk is a vile extremist. But many still struggle to accept that he is also an oblivious fool. Once you actually listen to what he has to say about the world, you realize it’s all faux-visionary nonsense layered on top of profound ignorance.

From the way he and his groups whined in the latter part of his life, you'd think David Koch and his buddies were bled dry by taxation and forced to live in cardboard boxes under a bridge. In fact, under the government he hated, he had a pretty sweet life. www.wsj.com/real-estate/...

Kevin Hassett’s COVID model, which he was in no way qualified to create, predicted that American COVID deaths would be at ~zero by May 2020

Congrats to everyone who insisted they were better off four years ago -- you made it right back to the safety and security of "early COVID pandemic"

An excellent question. Where are the Fortune 500 & Wall Street CEOs? Where are the university presidents? Where are the civil society leaders? Not just speaking out specifically in defense of their institutions & democracy, but also about 🇺🇸's global interests? The silence is deafening & shameful.

This is almost too stupid to comment on, but I hope it's clear to everyone what's going on here: authoritarians bully you into doing little shit like this as a way to train you to comply, to grease the skids for bigger things. You talk yourself into a little thing, the next thing is easier.

“If Democrats say it’s important the press will cover it.” I mean, c’mon, he can’t really believe that.

"Gulf of America" is just a loyalty test. It's a way of checking who is going to abrogate reality for no reason other than a cowardly refusal to stand up to the bully or an opportunistic willingness to toady up to one. Anyone who will call it that will help you round people up or look the other way.

WSJ, last 48 hours:

“.. I don’t like the turbulence. I don’t like the chaos in the market,” said Paul Bisson, a 58-year-old, who .. voted for Trump. “That will make the economy worse, and that’s not what we signed up for.” @wsj.com www.wsj.com/economy/cons...

I'm sorry, but "they took over the whole federal payments system, fired the career staff, and won't let anybody see what they're doing" is not a situation in which you wait for more information. It's a situation in which you assume the worst. There's no explanation for it other than rampant crimes.

They spent an entire election campaign warning voters about the dangers of allowing Trump and his number 1 benefactor take power. Not enough voters gave a shit. Begging Democrats to DO SOMETHING after the fact is quite frankly ridiculous.

Has congress passed a law superseding or eliminating the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961? Has the Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional? Then why are journalists reporting that Trump and Musk are "shutting down" USAID. They are not authorized to do so.

If Mike Flynn has all our Treasury data, then hostile intelligence agencies around the world have it as well.

Getting mad at Ben Wikler, the most successful Democratic state party organizer this side of Stacey Abrams, who took a proto-fascist takeover of a purple state back from the brink, for posting about his enthusiasm at the DNC winter meeting, is insane levels of Poafter'f Madneff.

Corporate leaders who were fine with Trump sadistically imposing mass suffering on vulnerable groups as long as they got their tax cuts deserve every last bit of what this madman is now unleashing on them with these tariffs. Assholes.

Extricating us from this mess requires two things that this nation has collectively been unable or absolutely resistant to do: acknowledge Democrats were right, and hold Republicans responsible for *anything*. Our history is not a source of encouragement on this.

I think it’s important to understand that they aren’t going to crater the economy as part of some 11-dimensional chess move. They are going to crater the economy because they are very, very stupid, and cannot handle being told “no.”

This is Defcon 1. An unelected oligarch is taking control of the state.

You think you hate the GOP-fawning jackals in political media. You don’t hate these people nearly enough. And they have become a national security issue.

It's a week in and they're not bothering to govern anymore, or do things like express concern for dead Americans and their families. You turn on the camera and they just instantly go into rants about how black people and immigrants and women and LGBT people have ruined the country.

Anyway all Republicans are despicable fucking human beings and should be shunned from polite society if any such thing still exists, Jesus fucking Christ blaming a tragic plane crash on diversity to cover the fact that you fucked the FAA, just the biggest pieces of shit in the world.

"I was a heroin addict for 14 years," RFK Jr just now in his bid to be confirmed as Secretary of HHS. Imagine a person of color or a woman saying that and people shrugging it off as cool. That is 100% pure uncut white male privilege right there.

Maybe next time, America, you’ll stop lecturing Democrats about being hysterical and actually listen when they warn about the dangers Republicans pose. Then again, you probably won’t.

You all voted for this mess after Democrats got your retirement back. OK. Noted. We are not begging you to do the right thing anymore. You own this.

Yelling at Dems to act when you didn’t vote to empower them is some seriously repugnant shit
