Government-censored science ruined the USSR. Is the USA next? Back in 1928, the Darwin-and-Mendel rejecting scientist, Trofim Lysenko, was put in charge of Soviet agriculture. This is why you don't want a government that embraces anti-science policies! bigthink.com/starts-with-... #science

My dad was tortured by the Gestapo for 4 days and thrown in a concentration camp for being in the Norwegian Resistance. Growing up, he would tell me things he learned in the Resistance. I thought, I'm never going to need this stuff. Here's some of those things #Thread

As expected, the Trump team is already deleting climate info from government websites. In anticipation, our team at Urban Ocean Lab created a permanent archive of 100+ key resources and published a permanent archive: www.urbanoceanlab.org/resource-hub 👩🏽‍💻

Totally this. Organization at the institutional level. I am genuinely alarmed at how much all this is resonating with what I wrote in Serving The Reich. I didn't dream in 2013 that it would become this relevant, this soon.

It's becoming difficult to deal with the news. On the one hand, catastrophes. On the other hand, unprepared decision makers. My reflexions in the #ComplexityThoughts post below, accompanied by the podcast: open.spotify.com/episode/65UH... A short recap 🧵 1/ open.substack.com/pub/manlius/...

This is, or should be, a big deal -- Ann Telnaes, an absolute legend, quitting WaPo due to censorship of a cartoon criticizing billionaires anntelnaes.substack.com/p/why-im-qui...

If you aren’t already following @philipcball.bsky.social here, I highly recommend it. He’s one of the smartest, most wide-ranging and prolific science journalists working today.

Time, before the holidays descend, for a little round-up of some of the articles I published this year. To start, this look in @quantamagazine.bsky.social at the use of neutral Rydberg atoms as quantum bits for quantum information technology. www.quantamagazine.org/the-best-qub...

Fascinating though concerning article wapo.st/4gMRBdV
