She made a big deal out of it in the 2020 primary then never explained if she changed her mind or why. For the average middle America voter she did the typical politician dodge that turns everyone off. She didn’t embrace it or deny it, so she pissed off everyone while coming off as inauthentic. $.02

Im a raging liberal in a red state surrounded by red states who used to reliably vote D. We’ve lost the working class. Talk to any farmer or tradesman, they’ll say Ds only care about gay trans kids and university professors and Rs are the only people speaking their language. We need to win them back

Fuck yes! The anti Trump/Musk sentiment is going to motivate D voters and keep R voters home. And the middle folks are going to swing left hard. It’s not unreasonable to expect a D to win a R+20 district. I mean fuck, spend a few tens of millions of dollars and at least find out.

In 1992 yeah, keep government open. There were enough honest participants back then to make an honest deal. But now? We’re worried they’ll use a shutdown as an excuse to fire too many gov’t workers after they fired too many gov’t workers during not a shutdown? Fuck that. Make them own this shit.

Why is nobody in leadership trying to win open congressional seats formerly held by Rs? Flood those districts with money. Turnout will be low, Ds and Is and moderate Rs can possibly flip them with a little effort. Then Dems control the house. Long shot, but worth it. Yet nothing from leadership.

He’s gambling that this is type of “talk to and be cordial with the other side” centrist pragmatic politician that most Americans who want unity/normalcy will vote for in 4 years. And he’s hoping enough lefties will see it as placating to the idiot masses in order to enact more liberal policies. 🤷‍♂️

There is a wave of anti trump/musk sentiment among moderates just sitting there to be exploited. Why is the DNC not pouring money into those 3 or 4 open (R) congressional seats?? It’s going to be low turnout, so a cost/benefit wet dream. If Ds win them all they get the house. I mean, why not try?
