Pierre Poilievre’s Personal Assistant Explains Why He Is Not Afraid Of Mark Carney youtu.be/b2UHrLms_Q4

I hope you read, really consider its implications, and share it widely. "It is often said: When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. If that is true, then only weeks into Donald Trump’s four-year term, we are approaching tyranny."

Well well well. Looky here. More proof that the vaccinations worked.

Let's see how many Liberals are here. #cdnpoli #peipoli

Hi Everyone. I wanted to share my personal sad story I went through last year in August 2023. A story I felt wasn't taken seriously when I was on Twitter/"X". And its one I now must share with all Canadians due to recent events. Here's my story. Please share this. Part 1 of my letter

In 1970 the UK and Norway were roughly equal, almost no debt, and owned all their Public Services. Now the UK owns nothing and has £3tn of debt. While Norway still owns everything and has the equivilant per person of £10tn. That's how privatisation 'works'.

In Canada, everyone gets healthcare, paid by taxes. Seniors pay $100 annually for medications, free after that (with a few exceptions). Dental care for low income seniors is covered. Childcare is subsidized by the govt, making it affordable for working parents. This is what pro-life looks like.

If you watch something today please take time to watch my thoughts on the crisis facing Canadian democracy. We are in deeply uncertain times and parliament is failing to step up beyond dumbed down partisanship. Democracy is not meeting the crisis of the time. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHPL...

Alberta is suffering some of the highest levels of unemployment in Canada. Meanwhile the Danielle Smith government is leading a mission to poach workers from the United Arab Emirates to take Alberta jobs and drive up insecurity. Here's some of the plans for their trip.

“Canadians continue to give Poilievre a free pass on this vitally important issue. They are puzzled when they should be livid. There is nothing less on the line here than Canada’s national security. “ #cdnpoli #CanadaSky #Canada 🇨🇦 thetyee.ca/Analysis/202...

My daughter's 5th grade homework kept me up last night. Here are my thoughts on how populism is redefining freedom and democracy in Alberta, Canada, and beyond. open.substack.com/pub/drjaredw...

Tommy Douglas on what fascism is. It is happening now.

~ “Soviet style” AB Breaks With the Canadian Pension Model “In my history of being in this space, it’s unique,” Keith Ambachtsheer, director of the Toronto-based International Centre for Pension Management, describing the purge as “Soviet style” NY Times/ no paywall article archive.ph/W76CU

As an Albertan, I grew up thinking that Liberals hated Alberta, I hated Ontario, and the horror that Ottawa had visited upon our beautiful province. I admired Preston Manning (The guy who created the party that would become the CPC). Then I met a Political Science Prof at MRU

I don’t benefit from the dental program or $10/day daycare I don’t need the Canada Child Benefit & I already have coverage for diabetes medicine should I need it I vote in favour of these things because it’s not just about me Being Canadian means caring about all Canadians

It's been 2 months since Sean Fraser said he offered 250 million dollars to help Provinces have more shelters for the homeless this winter. Ontario, Alberta, and Saskatchewan has yet to respond. The elections over Scott Moe. HELLO? HELLO? Anyone there? ( This number is no longer in service)

Oh, UCP. Let’s get more money in the pockets of Albertans - by lifting the auto insurance cap and letting a billion dollar industry charge us more. Thanks. Danny. Full length video on TT. Lisab0923 #firetheucp #abpoli

How many Canadian Seniors and those soon to be 65 are seriously concerned about their Canada Pension benefits under a potential Poilievre government? Harper screwed with it. Now Smith is trying. Poilievre is next if elected. #cdnpoli #peipoli

Found some details to not trust Poilievre about our pension plan in Canada: #CPP #NeverTrustConservatives In 2012, Pierre voted to increase the age of eligibility for Old Age Security (OAS) and the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) from 65 to 67 /1 (thread) cupe.ca/pierre-poili...

The AIMCO intel keeps getting worse. Alberta university folks, our pensions are housed here … and about to be managed by a former conservative prime minister with potential conflicts of interest. In case the governance angle on the AIMCO story hasn’t got you riled up yet. #ableg #abpoli

My habit, many Sunday mornings, has been to write an essay to post on Xit. Let me try a Bluesky thread, instead. There is an advantage to being sixty (although obviously not in boxing) in that my memories, combined with my parents’ life learnings is over a century.

This cannot be stated enough. Many provinces have been taking federal health care transfers and not spending all of it on health care (and spending much of it on provincial tax cuts), then blaming the federal government for underfunding. t.co/OYmDEJDyVC
