The SWP was involved in a horrible rape scandal, which meant that it wasn't able to operate under it's own name
It set up a series of front organisations such as SUTR in order to rehabilitate the party and it's leading members
This is a good starting point

@jameskennedy.bsky.social
Still wondering whether you knew about the links between STUR and the SWP and about the reason why the SWP operates using front organisations?
Would be good to understand if you knew, but chose to ignore it, or whether this is all news to you?

I have read the procedure.
I am afraid that you are a great example of the refusal of SWP members to face up to the problems within the party
That's why the SWP are pariahs, and why they have to operate using front organisations

The statement you shared with me doesn't say that at all. Read the section I quoted
And I am afraid that your refusal to take seriously the problems with the SWP, and your dismissal of the problem as "historic shit" amply demonstrates why the SWP are still pariahs to a great many on the left

Read the statement you shared with me. It still concludes that the party's internal processes are an equivalent and appropriate process to the police in dealing with rape.
This is exactly the problem. No lessons have been learned. The same problems exist inside the SWP

Were you aware of the relationship between STUR and the SWP?
Were you aware of the historical issues of rape and sexual assault within the SWP?

This isn't "shit from a decade ago". These are serious and unresolved cases of rape and violent sexual assault which were committed, with impunity, by senior party members. There are people still in the SWP who were part of this scandal.
Doesn't that bother you?

It was also banned from London University among others for being “rape-apologist organisation which prides itself in creating an unsafe space for young women”.
I am sure you have read this:

Did you ask them about their links to the Socialist Workers Party, and why the SWP can't operate under their own name any more?

I think the "foreign" isn't needed in that sentence. They love autocrats. Kleptocrats. Oligarchs.
There is a global class of kleptocrats developing who are carving the world up between themselves.
Lets not be shy about saying it!

Labour were too slow to realise how rubbish the civil service is after 14 years of weak ministers, crap policy. SCS full of public school sycophants. HMRC and DWP as bad now as CSA was 20 years ago, only difference is that our expectations are lower

I’m pretty sure starmer isn’t actually authoritarian. The last labour government did a lot to open up the senior civil service to talent from outside. From 2010 all of that talent was replaced by public school sycophants. Don’t underestimate how much class mattered 2010-2024

If you remember the scandals around the CSA? HMRC and DWP are both as bad as the CSA were, it’s just our expectations are lower

I wouldn’t use that language, but 14 years of poor ministers, and bad policy have given us a civil service with some very poorer leaders at the top and lots of people doing things that we don’t need. Labour have been too slow recognising how bad things are

The big question is whether she will change her foreign policy speech this week to align the Tories with Trump and Farage, or rein back? Lots of authoritarian populists thought that a new world order would benefit them, and they could effortlessly surf the wave to power. Not so sure now?

The huge problem with slashing welfare, Medicaid and Medicare is it hits trump supporters and red states the hardest.

If you believe that there is something morally superior about the left you are badly mistaken. There are good policies and bad policies, good ideas and bad ideas. Generally I support left wing ideas. But there is no monopoly on moral righteousness

Just reminder that the US is the only major world economy with endemic leprosy and bubonic plague. So no risk whatsoever cutting healthcare resources
