Second breakfast hurts Hobbits and their causes: Opinion - Sauron

A future where AI has taken away the ability to tell our own stories is a proper existential threat.

I've sold AI training to Basingstoke, Braintree and Stourbridge!

I'm still amazed someone went: 5.4% increase pay for resident doctors, 4% for consultants aaand 3.6% for the nurses. Yup. That's looks good. Can't see any issues here. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

These companies use polygenic scores. Although they are a 'genetic test' they are complex, with deceptively simple numeric scores masking a complex interplay of biology, environment and chance. Polygenic predictions are uncertain and their use in this context - IMO - should not be allowed.

Bread or alive, you're coming with me.

Look, I'm all for scientific institutions and scientists engaging in ways to foster trust. But it's hard to "rebuild trust" when you have a national government and international propaganda machine working against you. That's quite a large couple of elephants in the room that could do with a mention.

To be fair, it can be hard to contradict your line manager.
