Great Father's Day afternoon taking my next gen shoegazers to the @soniccathedral.bsky.social stall at @roughtraderecords.bsky.social independent label market, and getting to meet the legends @stevequeralt.bsky.social and @threequarterskies.bsky.social

Surely 'cover me' meaning 'open fire immediately' has always been an accident waiting to happen...

There's no such thing as AI. ChatGPT are in league with a bubble universe where a gigantic organisation handles queries over days, weeks, months and even years. Staff can then bring the results back to a point in time seconds after the prompt. The 'dogs as human' department alone is absolutely huge.

Springwatch is good isn't it.

It's 2025 and I've just bought a (second) iPod Classic. I swear they still fill a niche that nothing else quite matches.

Impeccable YouTube recommendations from @heyhumdrum.bsky.social on the @hiartontheedge.bsky.social podcast. Motorcycle Ride, The Popguns, Rodney Allen, The High. Wonder if he also has the Motorcycle Ride Madonna covers set? And whether The Popguns is on the @precrecs.bsky.social list?

If you like nice photos of cakes etc, please give my youngest son a follow on Instagram - reg_bakes. He's just finishing his A-levels, and planning next steps in turning a hobby into a living. A little confidence boost for a young entrepreneur would be much appreciated!

Sounds about right to me, well done everybody

Seeking recommendations for a portable music player with large capacity (256GB+), ability to handle multiple file formats (e.g. MP3 but also works with Apple), long battery life and relatively future-proof. NOT a phone. An original or modded iPod Classic, or is there something new out there?

@profandyfield.com Can you please remind me - what large capacity, multi file format, portable music player are you rocking these days? I can't find the thread where you talked me through this before.

Now listening... hits all the sweet spots from @soniccathedral.bsky.social @dotallison.bsky.social

Finally got @thecure.com 'Songs of a Lost World' on my iPod... think it's what @robert.thecure.com would want!

Still blows me away every time youtu.be/3cYNI8s_vo4?...

Having my now regular "Is it time for an electric bike on the Cycle 2 Work scheme?" ponder. Still feels like cheating / don't want to get less benefit out of it, but a little help on cold nights after a game of football could be good. Thoughts / recommendations welcome!

A nice @weddingpresent.bsky.social delivery

Are smartphones and social media harmful to teenagers? The evidence is mixed, but a group of researchers have published a paper attempting to reach a consensus view. The trouble is, a bunch of other researchers disagree with their consensus www.newscientist.com/article/2480...

@robinfbennett.bsky.social I would love you to book them for September Song, or next year's Wood. (Sorry I can't be there this weekend!)

@andybebop.bsky.social @stevequeralt.bsky.social Thanks for all the music and good times!

Three songs from @mtjunkshop.bsky.social live in Nottingham last night added to my YouTube channel youtube.com/playlist?lis...

35 years ago today I went to my first @rideox4official.bsky.social gig. I had seen The House of Love a couple of months earlier, and those two gigs changed my life. Have seen them many, many times since and am looking forward to whenever the next is!

1989 - what a year in music to turn 15. Plenty of absolute classic masterpieces in this @soniccathedral.bsky.social DJ set. www.mixcloud.com/soniccathedr...

What's your hand gesture for "remember"? If you watch the episode of #TheAssembly with Gary Lineker you might spot why I'm asking.

Here's my video of The Sweetest Ache from last night at the Elysium Gallery and Bar in Swansea. With apologies to Peter Stone, hidden behind Simon Court for most of it! #SarahRecords youtu.be/fvs3pbP73wY

Dream gig for a Sarah Records fan last night... The Sweetest Ache live at the Elysium Bar and Gallery, Swansea. So good... and I honestly think Simon Court is one of the best vocalists of his generation.

More train listening ... beautiful compilation from @2ndlanguagemusic.bsky.social 'Vertical integration'

This morning's listening @soniccathedral.bsky.social

Swansea-bound for The Sweetest Ache tomorrow...

I did take more important messages from #OceanFilm, honest, but right up there - because I love a bit of reverse nominative determinism - was that the Colorist was called Simon Bland.
