Throw back to over 2 years ago?! At that time I was developing a real-time paint stroke post-processing package for Unity. I moved on because some of the tech + learning in that unlocked an even cooler rendering pipeline that I'm using in our current game. #gamedev #unity #realtimevfx #techart

Why does 'finding the fun' fail so often as a design strategy? #gamedesign New designers are told to prototype and 'find the fun'. But the naive version of this is a garbage tactic that mostly results in poorly thought out prototypes that are never going to converge on gameplay.

Once again: Bluesky has a setting you can enable to make it REQUIRE you to put alt-text on your images before you can post them, and it's very helpful both for remembering to do it and getting into the habit. Artists, you WANT alt-text on your work for discoverability, too.

Tried this again today ~ I have a clean constant screen width hull and am calculating the distance gradient of the offset in screen space which semi-works, but the gradient does not account for FOV, regardless of throwing all the matrix math I knew at it. Any ideas 🦋 #techart?
