A general reminder that if you get an audition for a character whose actor has “stepped down”, the chance is HIGH that it’s because they are withholding work due to the ongoing SAG strike. I STRONGLY advise you to pass on such roles as you’re stepping over other actors to take them. Be kind.

John isn't the only Hoyoverse actor who has requested AI protections before they could resume work on their character. However, they ARE the next known instance of an actor being replaced because they would not waver from that request. This is a decision made by the game developer, NOT the studio.
