Someone actually pre-drafted a #FOIA request for you to send directly to #DOGE so that you can find out what personal information of yours that ketamine-addled doofus has. Here's a link to it. Happy hunting. drive.google.com/file/d/119jz... #resist

We've hit 10,000 signatures on this petition -- at least ten thousand people refusing to donate to Senate Democrats until Mr. Schumer is replaced as leader. Let's keep it going. Share widely and make your anger known. Let's demand action.

“Tim Walz is headed back out on the road – this time, for a tour of House districts represented by Republicans who have stopped holding in-person town halls amid the raucous receptions some of their colleagues have gotten across the country.” www.cnn.com/2025/03/12/p...

House Dems' text chains lighting up with apoplexy. "Complete and utter meltdown," says one member. Members floating marching onto the Senate floor. Others urging primaries not just for Schumer, but any Senate Dem who votes for the GOP bill. @Axios.com www.axios.com/2025/03/14/h...

the first reporter to stand up and ask "what the fuck is wrong with you" should get a lifetime Pulitzer

Today Mom would've been 86. She's been gone now over 9 months. I miss her horribly. I don't quite know what to do with myself today except play piano to her, my very first teacher ... Happy birthday, Mom. This one's for you. #grief

Really wish people would stop talking about the problem with Science under Trump as “budget cuts”. No. Budgets are set deliberatively by elected members of congress. Budgets haven’t been cut. What’s happening are *purges* and *censorship*.

I agree with Donald Trump that an unelected bureaucrat should be fired. Let’s start with Elon Musk.

I hate how so many colleagues are destroying our profession with this shit

That’s right. 🇺🇦

If you don't see how a tool like this could be weaponized in a heartbeat against particular faculty and students, you haven't been paying attention to higher ed lately.

BREAKING: As Texas Faces Worst Measles Outbreak in Decades, Lieutenant Governor Focuses on Renaming ‘New York Strip’ Steak.

Televangelist Pat Robertson once said "I think having a woman president would be a terrible mistake. Women are too emotional to handle high office." Strange how when men in office shout and berate others in a childish emotional outburst, it's praised by some as "boldly standing up for our country."

No, the meeting did not go badly for Ukraine. It exposed in the most undeniable, unequivocal way possible the pro-Putin commitments of the president and vice president. That was information Americans and allies needed to have clear before them.

Here is the thing naysayers fail to understand: this is practice. Everybody gets together and throws sand in the gears of fascism for one day. Nobody has ever suggested that this is going to be the single day that changes everything. But stuff like this helps ppl organize+ prepare for larger actions

Just watched the Trump Gaza video and whoever wrote a couple weeks ago about generative AI being the new aesthetics of fascism could not have asked for a better case in point

These stories amount to "the left was so annoying about pronouns or liberals made people feel so guilty about plastic straws they had no choice but to get on board with the second coming of the Third Reich and the destruction of the planet."

Repost with the first album you bought with your own money. Stevie Nicks, Bella Donna. I have the songs memorized and can recall them at will. I still think it's one of those "perfect" albums.

RFK's not-so-veiled threat to take mental health drugs away is even worse than it looks at first blush. He wants to replace these medications with labor camps. This fits with the larger, eugenics-informed Trump/Musk agenda. www.salon.com/2025/02/19/r...

LGBTQI people aren’t DEI, we are people Whole ass human beings

I have no patience for "that's what they get" replies. I don't care the fuck anybody voted for or didn't vote for. The people whose lives are being destroyed by Trump are not my enemies. Period. I don't want anyone harmed. I want the harm to stop.

Incompetence in Washington puts every American at risk, no matter how you voted. No one should be happy that the DOGE team - the same folks who randomly published classified U.S. security information online today - wants access to your bank account & Social Security numbers.

The Trump administration has just announced that all college financial aid programs, scholarships, prizes, housing, and graduation ceremonies that help Black or Latino students are now considered to be illegal. The Education Department accuses colleges of discriminating against white students.

I’m charlton heston about my ssris

There is literally HIV being transmitted from mom to baby because of the illegal shutdown of US AID and now Trump’s State Department wants to spend 400 million dollars on Tesla cyber trucks. This is not about efficiency. It’s a smash and grab.

For our community that wants ways to take action outside protest and voting!

It's not complicated. They're just trying to stop women from being able to vote.

"Lamar, who is more an abstract master of symbology than political rabble-rouser, performed something right in Trump’s face that I think people will be decoding for years. It was a textured, deeply layered, colossal middle finger to the worst of US history..."

i am going to put a finer point on this: executive orders are not laws. and they certainly are not royal decrees. they are interpretations of existing law for the purposes of enforcement. the fact that so many people are treating them as laws is actually driving me a bit insane.

NYT's Daily did the best concise explanation of USAID that I've heard. It's a soft power organisation, founded by JFK to transform things like malaria nets & HIV meds into trade deals, mining contracts & military bases. But why does this confuse people? 🧵 open.spotify.com/episode/5BXl...

A quick resistance task: Google Gulf of Mexico (on a Google search engine) Click on the three little dots to the right of “Gulf of America”. Select "Send Feedback" Click on "Gulf Of America" text. Select "Inaccurate content"> “Incorrect" and type "The name of this body of water is Gulf of Mexico”

"America rejected kingly power once, and we must do so now,” writes Constitutional law expert @anthonymkreis.bsky.social. In 18th-century England, laws were changed at the king’s whim and legislative authority was subordinate to executive power. Deja vu?

I was cleaning out my to-do lists on the "Notes" app and found one titled "Ask Mom About...." There were three questions left. My last conversation with Mom was in May last year. Then, I asked all the other questions, and then we were both tired ...and then she was gone. With her answers. #grief

Chop wood, carry water. Just trying to plod along as the world turns to fire and ash. I wrote two abstracts and a book proposal this last week; does that sort of writing matter any more, I wonder? #writing
