So in this case—the voters can’t bear the consequences. If you narrow it to “this is the risk of voting for Adams,” then that is narrowly true. But I don’t think that voters could have predicted one of the single most corrupt governmental quid pro quos in US history happening.

This obscures what “their mistakes” really means and who will bear the consequences. In this case—NYC voted for Adams, but they didn’t vote for Trump. The consequences of the Trump-Adams deal will be born by those rounded up by ICE—most likely *not* Trump voter.

Sex, and sex work in particular, is the stone they sharpen their legal knives on.
Legislators know that few people will stand up and defend porn or sex work more broadly, and it allows them to pass bills that they can then use to harass, intimidate and jail other forms of expression.

Sexual rights are human rights, and if you won't defend the right to consensual sexual expression, you can't adequately defend consent, gender expression, sexuality, reproductive care, and a whole lotta speech.
Throwing "sex" under the bus is complying in advance with Christian Nationalism.

"Pornography" is a dog-whistle, same as "DEI" and "woke" — a pretext for broad censorship and repression of issues related sex and gender.
Unfortunately, too many on the left take it at face value ... and distance themselves from fights. We need much broader awareness and our allies to fight back.

6. The policy does not just affect funding going forward. All existing NIH grants will have their indirect rates cut to 15% as of today, the date of issuance.
For a large university, this creates a sudden and catastrophic shortfall of hundreds of millions of dollars against already budgeted funds.

Are there plans for an audiobook? And do you know who might be narrating? I have listened to two of your recent books as audios, narrated by Wil Wheaton and Amber Benson. Loved the books and the narrators both!

Lol, it’s not a supreme gotcha. It’s me mocking the fact that you thought you were super clever pointing out that the Gospels are not quite 2000 years old, as if that point added anything to the convo. That’s it. I’m making fun of you for trying to be clever. Have a good day!

I am familiar with the New Testament. As was the previous commenter, whom *you* assumed she was referring to the New Testament. Because you referred to the new parts but merely corrected the age. So again, does correcting the previous commenter on the age add anything here? Or bad faith responses?

Ok, 1900+ years ago. Does that bit of pedantry change the convo at all?

The people who took in Jewish people in the holocaust and hid them were not extraordinary people who were trying to be like Jesus. They were ordinary people with a conscience who knew they had a duty to rebel against power. Anyone can be this way. Everyone should.

Having known and enjoyed the opinions of Jonathan “Ultimo” Last since high school, it is indeed great to see his ever more recognized insights!

But why do that when you can just claim assault is kink and insist on being called “master”? I know it’s a small detail in a bigger story, but this guy insisting on being called master sort of reinforces my ideas about men who *need* to be called master.
