A harrowing story of a USAID employee who was stranded in the the Democratic Republic of the Congo: “Carol feels a sense of deep betrayal, loss and anger. Our own government has treated her and the entire USAID workforce as if they were criminals.” www.thebulwark.com/p/abandoned-...

Sen. Tillis (R-N.C.) says he’s inclined to support the Grassley-Cantwell bill. Says he’s heard from constituents worried about the tariffs, esp farmers & restaurant/lodging sectors. Everyone in red states :: call your reps!!

Me talking to my Senator’s staff: What is Eric Schmitt doing about the tariffs and the market plunge? Staff: I’ll be happy to pass this along. Me: Pass what along? I asked a question. Staff: I’ll pass it along. Me: A question? No, I want an answer. Staff: Okay. Thanks. *hangs up* 😡

Mike Waltz has now decided to roll out the story that Jeffrey Goldberg somehow hacked his way into their Signal chat. Just admitting a mistake and apologizing seems like a lot less work than lying and peddling a half dozen different conspiracies.

I remember the wonderful days when such displays of unity were led by the United States, not aimed at it.

misinformation on this topic kills children. journalists always have a responsibility to Don't Print Lies In The Newspaper but it's especially true for childhood vaccinations.

Oh he’s definitely in the Red Room now.

This doesn’t exist and will literally save $0

Germany’s likely new chancellor Friedrich Merz: Look at what Musk has done recently in terms of interventions in the German elections. That is an unprecedented event. The interventions from Washington were no less dramatic, drastic and ultimately brazen than the interventions we had from Moscow...

The spread of mis- and disinformation is tied to the death of paying for news and the expectation that journalists and experts should work for free.

At least Germany hasn’t lost sight of history.

Donald Trump’s unhinged rhetoric is making Americans less safe at home and abroad.
