Don't post AI slop. And if you repost by mistake, as I've done, delete it. When you have something to say and attach AI art, you're undercutting your message and hurting artists. Pay or barter for art. There's a reason good things cost money and take time. AI art is harmful and it looks like ass.

Sometimes you just have to lay down the law

On AI usage and critical thinking

Made this argument at a party last night to a bunch of AI apologists and for a split second they made ME feel insane for not using it. I cannot hide my disdain for friends and colleagues who submit to AI. And I’m glad to see that its inherent exploitation is a conversation happening here.

fucking trade wars afoot and I don’t even have a chair with insect legs that walks for me

I had a dream last night What a lovely dream it was I dreamed we all were alright Happy in a land of Oz #nowplaying #nowspinning

Asking AI to create an image that criticizes the current admin is so paradoxical. AI is as exploitative as the people you’re trying to criticize with it. No one needs to see the Statue of Liberty with a beer. Make a comment without exploiting nature, intellectual property, and transnational labor.

First day teaching Women in the Hebrew Bible and the enthusiasm in the class was high! I forgot what it was like to teach an upper level course where students aren’t *required* to be there. I’m so excited for this semester.

People don’t understand that Dylan walked that way because it’s cold aF in MN and it changes our posture. It’s the Minnesota crouch. He’s not special. He’s withered by the elements not the spirit of folk.

I love when the sports men rip apart the toasted remains of a breakfast mascot. It’s my favorite time of year.

going into 2025 with this energy

Wow it turns out even if you tell yourself you have time off to relax and celebrate, you still jolt awake at 6 am with thoughts of final draft edits and next semester’s assignment specs.

In an effort to get my final chapter finished before break, I am putting off grading until the day before grades they’re due. What could possibly go wrong.

The only time I truly hate myself is when I’m editing my writing. Just hacking things out with a red pen and simmering in self loathing. Everything you think is witty in the rough draft is actually shitty when you have to read it again.

I think I’m going to start carrying around a parasol and saying “you forget yourself, sir” when someone says something uncouth
