“I don’t consider myself COVID cautious. I consider myself COVID competent,” Zebrowski said. “Cautious would imply that I have an unreasonable fear of something. I do not have an unreasonable fear of this disease.”

I'm a nurse . I take surgical precautions.
I stopped using “Covid Cautious” a loooooong time ago for the same reason - it sounded to me meek and uncertain.
I have since used instead, “Covid informed”.

It's more of a problem for my coworkers when someone comes to work with symptoms.
"Oh, they are quite comfortable. I think everyone will be wearing them eventually. Also, they mess up facial recognition software and hinder the spread of airborne pathogens."

I’m Covid avoidant
I’m not the freedom to infect others kind of people.

I have no desire to fall and sprain a foot or break an ankle either.
Taking precautions is smart.
It’s simply common sense.
“What does Zebrowski miss about pre-pandemic times? “I miss the illusion that people are willing to care for each other,” she said. “How hard is it to put a mask on? It rattles your faith in humankind …”
As rebels with a cause leading the way, we defy the 'let them get infected' authorities and the mass sheepling. Evolution has primed people to conform and try to excel at fitting in. We're doing it differently

I thought previous infections only caused vulnerability? Dr Tran, may I ask your opinion on that? I trust you of all people!
💛
I get the Vax as well, but even if the mask did nothing for covid, I'd still wear it to prevent the spread of other diseases.
‘What does Zebrowski miss about pre-pandemic times? “I miss the illusion that people are willing to care for each other,” she said.’ Ouch. Isn’t that the truth?
Masking forever.
2. Within that quote, those words are used correctly.
People consider caution to mean Scared and Panicked rather than Competent and Aware.
What DOES push my buttons is when Americans forget that it’s a global issue, not just contained within their borders. 🙄
It’s amusing that AP refers to its article as “journalism”. 🤷♀️
Also, COVID is known to attack the brain through the olfactory nerve cluster, hence increased risk of not only Alzheimer’s and stroke, but much more.

Most Americans *believe* they have developed some level of protection. The data and science do not demonstrate that to be true.
The combination of everyone (almost) either getting vaccinated or infected does mean that the consequences for an average infection are less than they were at the beginning.
But still there are consequences!
That’s not enough for me.
Masking forever!
It included in that group all adults over 50.
Under the British government, however, vaccination uptake has declined and most of the population is no longer even eligible to receive Covid vaccines.
I still have not contacted SARS-CoV2.
Whether competent or antisocial, I don't care. Long covid is a risk I am not willing to take!
Caution, noun:
care taken to avoid danger or mistakes.
??
Plus, it’s only negative when enough ppl define it negative. If we continue to hold it as a neutral/positive, it’ll shift back that way.
For most giving up is all they can muster-giving up is not in my lexicon.🤨
#covidcompetent
Anyone who gets upset because someone else is wearing a mask has a problem, and it’s their problem.
