I read something that said that his ideas about health are actually closer to “terrain theory”: the idea that personal choices make our bodies either a hostile or welcoming environment for disease. (Not trying to be pedantic/split hairs, I thought it was interesting!) www.popsci.com/health/germ-...

I think my cat thinks he’s providing me with enrichment by repeatedly batting all his stuffed mice under the fridge

I think a related thing is when I see a fb reel or whatever of an exercise that looks like it would be good for [issue], watch it a couple times, save it, and feel satisfied without ever actually getting off the couch.

Read this as “I’m an alpha witch” at first which sounds pretty rad tbh. The eye contact is so you can hex anyone who messes with you.

I feel the same about “near-beer.” I keep reflexively trying to portmanteau “fake beer,” only to realize that “Would you like a fear” might sound hardcore but isn’t really the vibe I’m looking for.

One of the reasons we moved out here was for less extreme pressure changes (they give my spouse migraines too) and it does seem to have helped some.

That’s really tough 💜 I moved to the pnw from the Midwest about a year ago and I think we’ve had maybe a half a dozen thunderstorms in that time. I know “pick up and move” is a facile suggestion, but if you are ever thinking about relocating there are places with less triggering weather!

Looking forward to listening! I enjoyed the game and had no idea that there was a film adaptation.

I’m glad you talked to someone, I’ve literally never not gotten vm when calling her office. (At least someone is emptying the mailbox now! There was a while when I couldn’t even leave a message.)

I’m watching it with my husband who’s never seen it, and we’re alternating episodes with the corresponding episode of The Detective and The Log Lady podcast — highly rec if you enjoy smart and funny media commentary!
