faculty @upenn, often thinking about early modern prints and books in Japan; sometimes writing about them, too.

And also one of our staff members “loves” (her words, not mine) this system and could probably help if you need it

Yep! I got one sent back today because the restaurant said we had 4 in our party and we had 5. The 5th person was 5 minutes late, so the tab was not updated. I had to write a set of comments on why I had listed 5 names. The amount of money saved is much less than the amount of money spent on time…

Same (Reed), carried it through grad school, and still feel the same. Most of the students I teach now get it, and I can often bring the more cynical (or preprofessional) around to get there, too… makes for more fun all around.

Same! Going on Sundays--or very early Monday morning--ugh!! How about when a slide you really needed was misplaced? The worst.

I miss it, too (and being with you there, too). Slide room was a great place to catch up on all the news and gossip. I also took carousels with me to conferences and talks (and had slides get stuck because of failing labels).

Fabulous Kyōsai catch! What's the anatomical book? So cool to think of the thread going back to the Laocoon. . .

Our office manager helps with ours--maybe yours could, too? She has saved me on just about every submission.

Will's outreach made it possible for many of us to do new work in special collections, and his encouragement and support was incredible. He was an advocate for open access--"free the images!"--and for playing with ideas. I am devastated to lose this vital and inspiring intellect, wonderful friend.

Really appreciate you posting this. Depressingly the same as it ever was. Working on various levers to make change locally and across the institutions, but it is so slow and requires--yes--more service.
