Actually, The media is portraying this as Zelenskyy giving in to Trump and apologizing, but if you actually read his words, he said nothing of the kind. He is playing the diplomacy game carefully because the safety and security of his country is at stake.

My heart breaks for Zelenskyy. I cannot imagine the depth of his heartache, frustration, and exhaustion having to put up with this shit on top of trying to hold together a country invaded by a so called superpower.

But Le Pen’s comments speak more of her own embarrassment than any genuine sympathy for Ukraine. She had hoped that Trump 2.0 would help her own chances of becoming President in 2027. Like Nigel Farage in the UK, she now fears that Trump is giving right wing extremism a bad name

Yeah - hard for the most far gone to shift back and/or are too dependent on US income streams but it marginalising them which is good news.

On X the replies to Harry Cole are mixed - there’s clearly a crew of MAGA brained Brits shouting ‘he didn’t mention the UK’ but Harry has definitely seen which way wind is shifting. His team got quotes from across three parties too.

Trump, the self-styled 'master negotiator', has removed any leverage for Putin to come to the table. The only possible conclusions are either/some combination of a) he's actually a terrible negotiator b) he's indifferent to what happens to Ukraine c) he wants Russia to win.

HUGE five-point plan to be agreed by the European Council on Thursday. Will massively and rapidly increase funding to Ukraine but will also pay for a rapid ramping up of member states’ own defences. Loans available and will also tap into private money.
