Sure Trump fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the CNO....but they fired the top JAG's in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Why would you fire the top lawyers in the armed services at night on a Friday? That's the part you should be freaking out about.

Pay attention to this. Replacing JAGs with loyalists enables whatever orders Trump and Hegseth issue to be interpreted as lawful.

So the President not only fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. He also fired the top JAGs at the Army, Navy and Air Force. Those are the lead people who determine what is a legal order and what is not. So if you're planning to do things that are illegal they're the most obvious obstacle.

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

When do we get to the plot twist where we find out Elon is just the physical embodiment of grok beta and he’s uploaded himself to all of our computer systems?

Seems legit.... We don't want to be a nation of underachieving Americans.

Trump just made a civilian the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The Chairman is legally required to be an active-duty military officer. Trump is scared of our officers, knowing full well they will absolutely deny an illegal order!

Rep Raskin has been great. Rep Ocasio-Cortez has been great. And Rep Frost and Rep Crockett. Senator Murphy. Maybe no one knew exactly what to do. But such people laid down a clear marker. Let’s respect these and other elected federal representatives who stood out these first few weeks.

This made me so angry I have to not actually say what it made me think.

Former Vikings punter Chris Kluwe calling President Donald Trumps MAGA slogan a "Nazi movement" and being arrested and carried out of a city council meeting by police. Love to see it ✊️

Trump’s betrayal of Americans: He promised not to cut Medicaid—now he’s backing a House plan that slashes $880 billion from it. All to fund $4.5 trillion in tax cuts for the rich. He doesn’t care if families drown in debt, as long as he & his billionaire buddies get richer. Don’t Cut My Medicaid!

🚨BREAKING: Federal Court GRANTS sweeping nationwide injunction against Trump DEI executive orders finding that they violate First and Fifth Amendments to the Constitution. A huge victory for @democracyforward.org and its clients. A stinging loss for Trump. Visit www.democracydocket.com for details.

🚨 Speak up. Spread the word. Stay in the fight.🚨 We won't sit by while Republicans attack the Medicaid you and your loved ones need to survive.

In future generations, when your children and grandchildren look back on this moment, they are not going to ask about the price of eggs. They are going to ask you what you did. Not what you felt. Not what you paid. But what you did. And I want to be able to say I did everything I possibly could.

Reminder: Zelenskyy refused to leave Kyiv as bombs fell. Donold hid in a bunker from protesters with cardboard signs.

MAGAconomics: Fire the IRS! Nothing says ‘fiscal responsibility’ like laying off 6,700 IRS workers right before tax season. Good news: the ultra-rich can keep dodging taxes. Bad news: you might be waiting until 2026 for your refund. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/20/b...

@jenpsaki.msnbc.com: "Inspectors general are a headache for everyone. You know why? Because they're investigating every agency and they find stuff! Including waste and fraud and abuse! They wouldn't be firing them if they cared about waste, fraud, and abuse."

Here's one of the warnings I gave in an article before the US election. It's devastating to see it all happening. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

New: DOGE's spending has been secret. No longer. My colleagues have uncovered it. www.propublica.org/article/doge...

For every $1 the IRS spends auditing the top 1%, it can collect $13. For every $1 the IRS spends auditing the top 0.1%, it can collect $26. Laying off 7,000 IRS employees (during tax season) isn't about efficiency. It's about making it easier for the rich to evade taxes.

I've read most of the analyses of the DOGE 2025 "receipts" site. This, from NPR, is the best I've read so far. Some of what they claim to have cut haven't been cut, other "cuts" will incur costs down the road. NPR says DOGE has made $2B of cuts, not $55B. www.npr.org/2025/02/19/n...

You know this is 100% going to happen…

Pritzker: If we don’t want to repeat history, then for god’s sake, in this moment, we better be strong enough to learn from it.

If you were wondering if there is a word to describe how the United States is currently being governed, why, yes, there is: kakistocracy!

This story can't be repeated enough. The GOP is lined up behind the guy who is so incompetent that his quasi-gov't agency did this. They're confirming his highly questionable nominees & hurting the American people. And "accidentally"? It was stupidity, not accident. www.nbcnews.com/politics/dog...

The Trump administration’s pause on US foreign assistance could lead to an estimated 4.2 million unintended pregnancies and more than 8300 pregnancy-related deaths

An adult produces 1.5 ounces of formaldehyde daily as part of metabolism (42,520,000 micrograms, in case you’re wondering). Formaldehyde, if used, MIGHT be present at less <50 µg per dose as a residual. An adult produces 850,000-times more formaldehyde daily than what might be in a vaccine. 1/

The root that tears apart your foundation begins as a seed of distrust, hate, and blame. The seed that grew into a dictatorship in Europe didn’t arrive overnight. It started with everyday Germans mad about inflation and looking for someone to blame.

DOGE recommended firing workers at: -FDA, which oversees Neuralink -FAA, which oversees SpaceX -USAID, which probed Starlink -CFPB, which oversees Tesla's financing arm and a potential payment platform on X. "Conflict of interest" is a severe understatement.

A Missouri Representative has filed a bill to track pregnancies in the state. HB 807 will: "Maintain a central registry of each expectant mother who is at risk for seeking an abortion of her unborn child and make the same available to a prospective adoptive parent who has completed screenings."

“Elon Musk’s 28 False Claims Get 825.2 Million Views. From $50 million taxpayer dollars for condoms in Gaza to a 40% pay increase for Congress, Musk is correct that some of his claims are ‘incorrect’”

This database would give Musk detailed technical specifications of every system, detailed pricing and delivery schedules, and information on any confidential government investigations into every other U.S. defense firms. Conflict of interest does not get bigger than this.

“Congress wants to cut government but not their own budgets. Elon Musk's 'Dept. of Government Efficiency' wants to slash spending—except on his own gov-funded ventures. If they’re serious about cuts, they should start with their own staff and perks. adamkinzinger.substack.com/p/elon-musks...

Donald Trump is selling out our seniors to Elon Musk. He is handing over control to sensitive Social Security information to an UNELECTED billionaire. Is Trump too weak to tell Musk no? Is he using Musk to cut Social Security so he doesn't have to take the blame? www.nytimes.com/2025/02/17/u...

Trump on Hannity just now: "I always respected [Musk]" Trump in 2022:

Hi Bill, you could have actually done something to reduce the exponential growth in vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks in the US in recent years. Instead you confirmed RFK Jr. Just to spell it out: that will have the literal opposite effect. Was selling your soul worth it?
