Yes, a disgraceful speech, full of lies and disrespect.

You could try muting certain words and phrases. I did , and it improved my wellbeing.

Think he realised the SPD were on a hiding to nothing this time round. Pick up the pieces and run in 2029.
Or this Autumn if it all goes runny.

I think he was forced to distance himself after hundreds of thousands demonstrated in revulsion at his cooperation with them.
But before we hang out too much bunting, the coalition negotiations haven’t begun yet and there could still be shenanigans.

Latest Hochrechnung has FDP on 4.7, BSW on 4.9.
Looks like Lindner‘s gambit didn’t work. Good.

Lindner not looking happy.
And have a shave, for Pete’s sake. Söder can lend you a razor!

And named the party after herself. Not even Farage did that.

If you’re familiar with old English TV programmes.

Not a bad analogy.
I put some background in my monster election poster thread.
She’s married to Lafontaine and they’ve been busy splitting from every party.
Another narcissist, this time with opaque ties to Russia. Takes a lot of pro-Russia lines.

One thing is now clear: a two party coalition of CDU/CSU-Grüne will NOT be possible
If the Grüne end back in government it’ll be a three party coalition. Tricky
If BSW and FDP do end up out, CDU/CSU-SPD is the most likely
If FDP and/or BSW get in, hell knows

I do wonder who they think is going to pay their pensions.

Apart from the Linke, actually.
Leader of the Linke gives strong Mick Lynch vibes, IMHO.

Ok. One tv channel shows both below 5%, another puts them on 5.

FDP also. FFS.

Think the latest forecast puts the BSW on 5%.

Next Hochrechnung doesn’t change much.
FDP on 4.9, BSW 4.8.
These are now the most important numbers this evening. Let’s hope they stay below 5.

It’s how Hitler got in.
As pointed out in this satirical poster.

They are the liberals, or at least they were.
The latest iteration is run by Lindner, who I despise. He wants more Milei and Musk, is massively hawkish on the destructive debt brake and actively sabotaged the government he was a part of.

The scary thing is that CDU/AfD together would have a majority, though Merz has ruled it out.. Could be that coalition negotiations are sabotaged, then Merz is either replaced or goes back on his word and either goes into coalition or minority government with AdD support. AfD is suggesting this.

There will now be periodic „Hochrechnungen“ that adjust the result.
If either or both the FDP and BSW make it it will be chaos.
Would need a 3-party coalition (CDU, SPD and Green, or CDU, SPD and FPD).
I will punch a wall if bloody Lindner gets back in government.

CDU for sure, welcome Kanzler Merz.
It depends on whether the FDP make it over 5% (they are on 4.9%).
Currently it looks like CDU + SPD is most likely.

Dortmund guy "das freundliche Gesicht des NS"
Weidel: naja, das war ironisch gemeint.
How can you say that ironically outside of The Producers?
comment in response to

I fear that they will try to strongarm the SPD by threatening them with the AfD.
Weidel is now on, saying she is ready for coalition talks with the CDU. 🤮

Tbh they are the only party that has actually campaigned decently (regardless of what you think of them). Clear policy positions and less of the immigrant bashing.

Good.
They start with Linemann and Dobrindt. Sheesh.
