I know everyone thinks I’m the crazy Covid girl because I still mask and everyone stopped talking to me when I stopped using Facebook, but they’ve all had the flu nonstop since November and I haven’t had it since 2019.

If you’re in Long Covid research or treating Long Covid patients… you need to be wearing a mask. Your programs aren’t accessible if you aren’t taking the most basic and effective measures to stop the spread. Patients with Long Covid shouldn’t have to risk reinfection to get care.

Imagine being rich enough to do anything you want and choosing to take food and medicine from starving children to give yourself even more money.

Study suggests COVID-19 infection no longer grants long-lasting immunity. "Pre-Omicron, infection meant you had 80% protection against re-infection one year later. Post-Omicron, this has fallen to 5% protection at one year" Study: www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Keith Haring died of AIDS aged 31 on 16 Feb 1990. One of his last works, Unfinished Painting, was deliberately incomplete, reflecting the devastating, unquantifiable loss to the arts due to AIDS. #LGBTplusHistoryMonth

RFK Jr has been confirmed as the head of HHS in the US. The world's highest profile anti-vaccine advocate now has control of US vaccine policies and research. This is one of the darkest days in human history. God help the millions of lives affected by his twisted mind. www.who.int/news/item/24...

I know there's been years of disinfo downplaying the flu in order to dismiss COVID as a threat, but both things cause serious illness and are best avoided. This flu wave is no joke. It's a good idea to get this season's flu vaccine (it's not too late), and wear a well-fitting mask like an N95.

Please stop telling people to wear masks at protests to "hide" their identity. A. Scientifically, it doesn't. B. It undermines the argument that we're doing it primarily to protect our health. C. It invites more mask bans. D. It makes life harder for vulnerable people just trying to live.

Hannah Arendt says the most evil thing about fascism weren't the atrocities but the willingness of people to go along. Trump has cut funds to the most desperately poor. He threatens Canada. But he can't tell you where to spend your money. His economy needs our tourism $$. You know what to do.

We are fighting many battles. The elimination of DEIA. Funding cuts at NIH. Silencing of CDC. Loyalist cabinet nominees. A coup by Musk. Please don’t snooze on Trump’s move to takeover the arts. The Kennedy Center may be just the beginning. We need the arts to survive these troublesome times.

“COVID-19 may have subtle, yet significant, effects on brain function that are not always captured by standard cognitive tests… Distinct patterns [that] are similar to those seen in much older adults…“ www.psypost.org/new-neurosci...

Worked hard on this, and I hope it will be a useful resource for many. A beginner’s guide to Long COVID, with a discussion of mechanisms: www.thegauntlet.news/p/what-is-lo...

As Canadian business leaders meet today to discuss trade there is a clear preference going forward for Canadians in terms of who will be best to deal with our economy in the age of Trump threats. Mark Carney for PM makes total sense. #CanadianSky 🇨🇦 www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/art...

DOJ's memo to criminalize DEIA also means criminalizing Accessibility. That means wheelchair ramps, elevators, language access, hell, even handicapped parking is all deemed illegal. A reminder that the Nazis actively targeted and killed people with disabilities. www.qasimrashid.com/p/ag-bondi-t...

I sure hope that Canada in particular learns from the US how fragile democracy is. You guys really need to study what happened and prevent it from happening there. Oligarchy will be coming for you, but you have some time still to prevent it.

I bring a “wearing a mask is one of the fastest, easiest, most immediate ways you can fight fascism” vibe to conversations that folks who don’t mask and know it’s wrong reeeeally dislike. The immediate cessation of responses is always so telling. 🙃

I always thought Elon Musk was the most dangerous man in America but I viewed him as a danger primarily in terms of his wealth and his disinformation power. I didn't realize he would pose an actual threat to our form of government, our national security, and our most sensitive personal data. Sheesh.

The entire archive of CDC datasets can be found here. HUGE shoutout to data archivists- this work is important 👏🙌🏻 archive.org/details/2025...

Book burning? If everything was digital in Hitler's 1930s Germany, this is what his book burning would have looked like: deletion of data, removal of websites, retraction of scientific studies, censorship of words like "equity," "diversity," "climate change."

Rewatching The Sound of Music for no particular reason

So Elon Musk did a Nazi salute. Then he tried to deflect. Now he's gone to Germany to speak to the neo-Nazi AfD party, which he's endorsed, saying that Germany should let go of historical guilt -- which is a dog whistle for Holocaust denial. So Elon Musk is, in fact, a Nazi.

I just learned that Michael Jackson allegedly would get up and set down tracks whenever the thought came to him because he was afraid if he didn't do it asap the muse/God/etc would give it to Prince instead and if this concept is true I have some work to do.

You want to be more involved in community care? Wear a mask. You want to be an ally for the most vulnerable like disabled people and people of color? Wear a mask. You talk about revolution but it means nothing if you’re not masking. By masking, you’re preventing death and disability.

There’s an enormous JESUS WAS A REFUGEE sign in front of Hollywood Methodist Church on Franklin and Highland right now. In related news that’s the church in Sister Act and Back to the Future: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollywo...

🚨⚠️ Heart attacks🫀in people under 40 have risen 66% since the beginning of the COVID pandemic. COVID is a vascular disease COVID can affect the cardiovascular system by increasing blood stickiness, which raises the likelihood of blood clot formation.

The "he's not gonna listen to her" reactions are missing many points. Lots of other people are also hearing it. Lots of people can see him hearing it, then weigh what she's said with what he'll do. Lots of people can see her refusal to surrender these ancient teachings to the latest face of empire

Trump’s White House just withdrew the US from the Paris Climate Agreement and World Health Organization. This shameful embrace of science denial puts the entire world at greater risk of climate catastrophe and deadly pandemics.

This is an excellent and practical guide of things you can do to increase your resilience in the face of what’s to come. Please spare a thought for disabled people who have considerably less resilience by virtue of having lost their health. We are the canaries & we are still begging you to listen

Folks don’t hesitate to tell disabled people to “just stay home” when we ask for covid mitigations The same people who rioted over being asked to stay home for a few WEEKS are perfectly fine condemning others to staying home forever They won’t even mask in healthcare, the one place we MUST go

Survival has always depended on adaptation. People who are Covid aware have adapted to a significant change in the environment. They’re not sheep. They’re not afraid. They’re not brainwashed. They recognized a threat & took steps to mitigate it. We should all be doing it.
