Blending women’s fiction with cosy fantasy, this tale of love, loss and larger than life friendship is a hilarious as well as a moving one. Plus, we should all #BeMoreBabs!

And btw the whole “know” thing doesn’t mean you need to share your whole life. Pet pics and bookshelves/tbrs are always a winner. What’s your favourite thing to share about your book/writing? 6/6

Et voila - a lot of authors already do this because they’re excited to share their writing (and that excitement is your nr 1 superpower!!!) but being aware of this journey can really help you when you’re stuck for what to post/share. 5/?

So then we’re at step 3: Trust Readers need to trust that you and your book will deliver the reading experience they’re looking for. There’s lots of ways of doing this but can include: snippets, talking about your characters, talking about your reading taste and comps for the book. 4/?

Step 2: Like To be clear this doesn’t necessarily mean they need to like you as a person (though it doesn’t hurt). For books something about your book needs to appeal to them. That could be the genre, a trope, a character or setting. So here dive deeper than only repetition of title/cover. 3/?

Starting with step 1: Know This is pretty straightforward. Readers need to know about you and your book. Repetition will be key for this as we need to see a name or title or cover a lot of times to remember them. Once a reader is at this stage they might follow you on socials. 2/?

I fell in love with Susan’s Witchlands series from the very first chapter all those years ago when I was part of her street team (#VoidClan forever!). The series has grown so much and each installment is more phenomenal than the last. I can’t wait to get my eyeballs on the finale!!!

So exciting for you! I spotted the PB on a table in Waterstones Cardiff - totally forgot to take a pic but it immediately caught my eye 😊

This exactly! The amount of people regretting “corrective” spine surgery is like 4-5 times the amount of people regretting transitioning. Where’s the calls for spine surgery bans? Honestly, people! 🤬

Yay! So exciting and well, I don’t know how you get them to last that long 😂

Currently reading The Wycherleys by @annalieseavery.bsky.social, Heart of the Sun Warrior by Sue Lynn Tan and my current craft book is Anatomy of Story by John Truby. All fantastic!!

I love a good trope and seeing how different authors handle it. I actually interviewed Amie Kaufmann and MK Lobb in 2023 and it was so funny how you could describe their books with a super similar one line, but those books couldn't be more different in every way to me.

Isn’t everything derivative to some point? At the end of the day only you can write this project the way you’re writing it. Keep going! Plot holes can be plugged in editing 😉

Thank you! The sprints are really the thing that kept me plugging away at it. Looking forward to revisiting and starting edits maybe later in January.

We’ve gotten to the resolution and a very sweet and happy scene. Chapter 37 is in the bag! Two more to go (I think/hope), so after sweet we need some spicy… #AmWriting
