I suppose, but ultimately the onus falls on the player to ensure they’re using legal cards in sanctioned formats, and in commander this would generally just be met with an “umm that’s not legal” and a handwave. It’s a fair concern though, and something that the acorn stamp would have fixed 😭

the name of the card effectively determines legality in ambiguous circumstances like this, with the exception of the in universe prints, where the =SLD XXX at the bottom of the card denotes that it is the same card in the rules, and therefore, has the same name.

If you use a slightly smaller needle (I think I use 21s) corking is less likely to happen
It makes drawing a little harder but makes corking way less common which limits the risk of contamination. It’s worth considering.
