Who governs? The richest man in the world is engaged in a hostile takeover of the machinery of government.

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

Yes! The anti-DEI crusade is a comprehensive project of re-segregating all elite spaces, restoring white male dominance in all spheres of life, and mandating a white nationalist story about America’s past and present. And these Trumpist cranks couldn’t possibly be more explicit about any of this.

I will not post much on this topic, but I'm the Head of Ancient History and Religion at Cardiff University. Our staff and students are nothing short of amazing. Those who know me will know that I'm doing all I can.

Think about this and how Fox and the GOP would politicize an Army helicopter crashing into a commercial airplane days after a Black woman president tried to gut air safety & installed the least qualified man ever as Defense Secretary. THAT is the degree to which Dems should politicize this crash.

If America has continually progressed to grow “closer to its noble principles”, then wouldn’t dismantling the civil rights movement or any laws be anti-American?

good riddance to DEI, says man hired because he is a conservative

“Often misread”. By which we mean “treated as more than what it is”, Which is one man saying “this is my favorite type of story”. That’s all it is—the opinion on one person. His name happens to be Aristotle, but you’d get as much by asking Aristotle Onassis.

A letter from the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. “I never thought I would live in a time when the United States government would censure a bishop, jeopardize religious free speech, or threaten to take people while they attend worship.” ⚓️

The cicada lifestyle is more appealing than ever. Hiding underground for the next 17 years only to emerge screaming, that's living the dream.

This. Thank you for sharing, Judy Stack.

On Holocaust Memorial Day, with anti-Jewish crimes at an all-time high, the country needs to remember more than ever

I somehow managed to eat a whole can of sour cream one onion pringles today without even noticing it happen.

First finished jug of the new clay batch. Switched to a coarser mesh screen when washing, and left more sand in this year, which really seems to be working nicely. Between being off a while, and getting used to the new clay, jug came off an odd shape, so i leaned in. #pottery #wildclay #snake

It’s #CervicalCancer awareness month! The #HPV vaccine is highly effective. It can prevent 9 in 10 cases of the most high-risk strains of human papillomavirus (HPV) – the #1 cause of cervical cancer.

This is why you don't design curricula around "jobs of the future". We can't predict the future but we do know what general skills and knowledge will be valuable whatever job you do.

The Inspectors General refuse to leave until the action is taken legally, which they do not believe it was, and neither do senators like Chuck Grassley. This is what not backing down looks like. static.politico.com/b3/3e/5baf92...

Since the White House pulled the page on the US Constitution, a reminder that THE CONSTITUTION DECODED isn't just for kids. It's a plain language explanation of the text, side-by-side, so you can see for yourself. @workmanpubkids.bsky.social www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-consti...

So, is their legal argument that people in the United States who are neither residency permit holders nor citizens are NOT subject to US law? Because, in that case, the government doesn't have the legal right to remove them from US soil, no? Nor punish them for crimes nor tax them.

Without downloading any new pics, where are you mentally:

Mayor Baraka: “One of the detainees is a U.S. military veteran who suffered the indignity of having the legitimacy of his military documentation questioned. This egregious act is in plain violation of the 4th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution” So mass deportation also means detaining our veterans.

Is this what it means to make America more masculine? Like, I guess the don is 19, so is able to consent, but still…

god bless the Oxford English Dictionary

Law Professors: The Constitution still exists and the Courts will protect us. Historians:

Watching this amazing film with a character named “Indiana Jones” in which Nazis are the bad guys.
