Bring Back DEI

Hudson NY

I'm a broken record on this so I'll just say again that you should take every opportunity to [if you can] gather with other people who are trying to do constructive things in the world. Attend the zine fairs, the craft circles, the workshop sessions, food distros, people's assemblies, all of it.

Here I react to the shameful behavior of American leaders and media toward the Ukrainian president. No doubt there were more, but I saw five failures on our side: of hospitality, decency, democracy, strategy, and independence. Please watch and share. snyder.substack.com/p/five-failu...

None of us can be sure what will “work.” You try multiple things and find your way in. Read some histories of the Civil Rights Movement by those who participated. They were never “sure” of what would work. Some campaigns fizzled out. But persistence, creativity, determination, and focus were key.

Zelenskyy is a warrior for democracy. Putin is a war criminal. Full stop.

Today is a really good day to do something. Read the Constitution. Have a talk with a stranger about DOGE. Volunteer at a food bank. Be kind to people. Whatever you do, don’t just throw your hands up in the air & assume Trump gets away with it all. We are still a rule of law country. Insist on it.

Elon musk is the richest man in the world, he could be funding hospitals, medical research and universities. He could be solving the climate crisis. He could be feeding, hungry children. Instead, he’s trying to make sure that your grandmother doesn’t get an extra dollar of Social Security.

Where are all the Dem consultants who supposedly do "comms" work at? Where's the website put together with succinct talking points, one pagers, posters that folks can easily download, print and pass out in their communities? Why aren't they doing this work PRO-BONO?

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world. Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

View on my last visit to Sherrod’s Senate office in Washington. So much change was coming for our country. But I heard our grandchildren’s laughter nearby and felt the hope in that. Life is never one thing. We are in this together, friends & kind strangers. Knowing that gives me so much strength.

We got this y'all. It won't be easy, joyful or fun... But it's worth it. I'll always stand on the side of Democracy and anyone that believes in it! Love most of y'all. Here we go!
