Now in the suburbs and owning a car, I have SO MUCH leeway to self-regulate in my capsule throughout the day. I’m a radical environmentalist but my gas-burning car has been a major mental health assistive device.

I am proud to be able to quickly pick up things like airbrushing or stained glass or woodworking. Makes me feel competent!
Taxidermy humbled me good, and of course my first bird looked like shit.

I learned you have to remove the entire paper-thin skin with feathers still attached all in one piece, turn it inside out and right side out multiple times just for the cleaning process, which is only step one of many fairly excruciating and unforgiving steps.

I had to laugh. I have stupid brains but pretty clever hands and am always teaching myself skills from books/videos. I also had a beautiful bird die on me and said “shit, how hard could it be?” before trying my first taxidermy mount with just an exacto knife and google
