…we have 20 pupils with EHCP’s (13%) in school (1FE primary) many at the highest bandings. They don’t need an adapted curriculum they need an adapted provision, properly funded. My data will always be at the whim of cohort need yet the expectation on us is the same as the school that turns them away

Any thoughts on Tute? And what role did you use them for?

Thank you Jasmine.
At the moment my friend is looking into SEND-specific tutoring, but I’ll keep that in mind.
And if your colleague is looking out for tutees I’ll happily repost their details?

Even if mocksteds are no more, they had wildly different opinions of behaviour 🤷♀️
It begs the question ‘how reliable is the behaviour judgement?’

In one school we had a Mocksted with HMI followed shortly by an Ofsted inspection.
One graded behaviour Inadequate, the other Good.
Within a few weeks. 🍎

Very fair. One of the areas that matters is cover - a lot of depts cover internally, so any illness/absence can dramatically increase workload. Classes of 60 kids 👧 on a regular basis can strain relationships.

It’s intense. You team teach so often, your lessons are in plain sight so your team can always see what you are doing, lots of after-hours sessions, fixtures, trips etc. Also a ‘sports culture’ so a lot of emphasis on team values.

Will dig into these programs in more detail at some point...

It's always important for journalism to be clear on which findings were statistically significant.
With the research into mindfulness interventions, there were a lot of articles about iatrogenic effects (causing harm), but overall the findings showed no significant difference between groups.

Does the data differentiate between independent schools and independent special schools?
comment in response to

It probably includes independent special schools. LAs are paying for placements because there aren’t enough available in the state sector.
