About time. You could almost predict the drivers that were going to get penalties the weekend JH was on duty.

He has been told that with global climate change that natural resources in Greenland will be easier and cheaper to exploit. It's the large Primary sector companies that are calling for this - follow the money...

Vers kept to the rules. Norris didn't keep to the rules. Penalty Agreed. Let's move on.

Utter crap. If you say that Max reported Lando because of the anger, how do you explain Lewis reporting on Oscar P going into the pits at a weird speed/angle? It's normal racing to report everything about everyone. This report stinks of British exceptionalism through and through.

Do not conflate the two. Why even ask the question? Pointless.

And the driver missing the flags? Black and white argument? Yes/No.
comment in response to post
It's now a strawman argument but I'll carry on. Black and white thinking asks: Is the mirror a danger? And Are the yellow flags flying? Yes/No Yes/No FIA failed their part, Driver failed his part. Do not conflate the two.

Yes, FIA measurement and reporting equipment needs to be consistent. However if no sensor reading is noted then it cannot be penalised. Where it is recorded, penalty. That is outside the issue we are discussing.

Equality must be seen across the grid, some fans see their set of drivers immune from penalty, ie; two have broken start rules with marshalls/car/driver still on track - only been fined. A breach of safety related rules. We all need to acknowledge the rules & penalties are for all. No bitching.

IF my mum had balls she would be my dad. Max Verstappen 2024. Ifs are a pointless conjecture, don't you agree especially two in series.

We do not want to go down the road of mitigation and teams arguing their corner again. 2021 should teach everyone that team managers shouting at race officials doesn't lead to results every one can respect and be happy with. Simple rules, simple penalties equals understating by all.

The potentially most dangerous point was Brazil with the two/three car false start with car, driver & marshalls on track areas. Two British drivers That was only a fine. We need to get all marshall safety related incidents with a stop & go. That includes double waved flags that drivers MUST obey.

So you're saying the rule book should be recommendations instead of absolute penalties? Race drivers would then be encouraged to ignore the rules & hope that the team could mitigate any penalty with arguments. That would be chaos & lead to unfairness relying on the quality of your pit lawyers.

But it exists and the professionals that are driving should be respectful of them 100%. Lando simply couldn't know the whole situation and therefore added risk to the track.
comment in response to post
In the pen, Lando said he didn't know what the penalty was for. Is he literally saying he didn't see the flag? Is he literally saying he saw it and didn't care? Either way he could not know the entirety of the situation and as such the flags MUST be respected.

Wow he was really pissed with woody.

Citation for that? Who reported that?

In Brazil, British drivers weren't touched by penalties, just fines.

Good thinking but no. The most ideal driver pairing would be a young rookie America and.... ....Ricciardo. He loves America. America loves him. Their driving stats are incredibly similar in wins etc, but Ric slightly more experienced across different teams. He would mentor better & cheaper..

It's just a petition, no major legal or moral rights associated with it. Just a simple debate. It'll be a brave Tory to head that debate. Later on the petition data will be picked apart and whittled down taking out 25,500 plus from 10 Downing Street alone and will be shown as a faux outrage.

I disagree. If this had been Lewis Hamilton (it actually could happen next year - I predict it will) then it would be chalked up as an action of a world champion & just how they are wired. It is amazing how this changes depending on the drivers involved and nationality of the press. Mark my words

But is he now? Not convinced. Perhaps a year or two ago but now? We'll see how LH compares to another young driver soon. Should be...every race.

Points are awarded for finishes & GR did the best "When it counted" Indeed LH said a wrong choice during the qualifying session which resulted in his struggles for stability. “The tyres were difficult. That's why we did a prep lap. And that was the wrong call to do a prep lap, on my side,” he said
comment in response to post
GR had drive of the race Everyone praised LH for a great drive, it was a great car performance. I would say GR not only matched LH all weekend but beat him in qualifying & race GR drove a well controlled race not allowing LH more than 5 secs near him, GR didn't need to do more, with tyre to spare

It must worry them that their car can only work at 12°C track temperature. I hear they are petitioning for a New Year start for the 2025 season, probably Knockhill Circuit.
