Longitudinal studies are what I’m mourning. We’re killing research decades in the making. This is the kind of research that told us how lead exposure affected children into adulthood …or could tell us how decades of HIV meds might affect a senior’s mental and physical health.

As a Vandy alumna I can assure you I went to school with plenty of privileged idiots who were only looking for ways to make maximum bank when they graduated. Mostly finance bros and corporate lawyers.

This is why I don’t judge parents with harnesses and leashes on their kids. They have pulled that child out of oncoming traffic one too many times.

My favorite East Coast v. West Coast proverb: New Yorkers aren’t nice, but they’re kind. Angelenos are nice, but they aren’t kind.

As with most viral skeets on BSky, the best replies are from the people who don’t get the premise. Great stuff! 🤣

This reminds me of the veiled hats people with late stage syphilis used to wear in the Old West. Like in the last episode of Emily Blunt’s The English.

It’s a real fucking shame that in this fading republic, I’ve twice had to be glad I’m a diabetic to get access to meds and to have my insurance pay for it. During the Panini I had to make do with being “obese.”

Uh no…and I voted for the Dems because I am not a one issue voter. Leave the vitriol on X where it belongs.

If Tapper et al wanted to point to an actual failure of leadership in the Biden administration, we could have a good faith argument about it’s and 90% of the Democrats’ Israel policy. Otherwise…what are we doing here but continuing to ignore the misogyny that lost Harris the election?

You mean I get to watch one more episode of Criminal Minds (that I have absolutely seen before in the last 6 months) instead of going to bed on time? And then maybe one more…disassociation is my bedtime ritual.

I mean it’s an EFT that comes out once a month for the same amount. You can apply online. Now, you have to have your money in there on the day, but other than that it’s like a gym membership.

I know this is not the right answer, but as someone who makes a considerable amount of their income by 1099…I simply don’t pay until they bill me. I file on 4/15 and wait for the bill I get around June. The interest is minimal. Then I go on a payment plan. Might make for less fuckery these days.

Google your county’s name + legal aide. Even if your income does not meet their threshold, they can still give you some basic guidance.

Absolutely! And when my MAGA dad tries to give me the party line on all the Muslims and Africans simply flooding Europe, I clap right back and say, “not the colonizers complaining about being colonized!” 😱

City Center is the woooorst for this. No ushers at all in the back rows. People were having full on drunken conversations at the Flamenco Festival this year. It’s uh a percussive dance form dumb dumbs. That’s like 1/3 of the thrill of it. Why are you here?

I’m still waiting for Tapper et al to recognize that the #1 problem was that Harris is a woman. Full stop. The rest is icing on a shit cake.

I’ve been in Chelsea for most of my tenure (weird HDFC inheritance situation). We’ve had our waves of folks moving in and out. Luckily we also have three housing projects which means there are still bodegas, laundromats, cheap slices and neighborhood regulars. Higher crime? Keeps the $$riffraff out.

I’ll have 25 years in the city this month. When I see these WV girlies and bros, I just think: wouldn’t you be happier in Bloomington (no shade)? Do you go to galleries, shows, weird new restaurants? Have you encountered anyone from a new culture or from a different background? Why are you here?

I think you’ll find the unbearable pressure put on his wife by racists led him to take his family and run. Megan was suicidal. He deeply feared that he’d lose his wife like he lost his mother. They are both on the record about this. Try again.
