Too many dems are technocrat-brained, thinking that the right set of policies will stop Trump. we need better stories first, and *then* the policies to make those stories reality. Trump is completely incoherent in policy, yet people love the stories he tells.

The Left is basically on this level too

Yeah you're right that we need to amplify good Dems. That's just basic PR and propaganda.

Damn. I wouldn't want to work for you lol

If that's the case than talk of a united Europe is farcical.

This will require a reformulation of how Democrats see themselves in the world. Playing the "embarrassed American" card is going to be increasingly untenable. It's time to become something new. /end

for what it's worth, this level of balance made me refollow Stancil. thought he was turning into one of those brainless anti-Dem zombies.

this is a good point

Remember folks, yell at Democrats when they’re bad and praise them to high heavens when they’re good

Yeah New Atheists are behind the curve in so many ways. I'm not even sure who their audience is.

how is any of that a stereotypical liberal

Problem is that Democrats spent ~10 years calling Trump a fascist and yet millions of Dems stayed home on election day, allowing Trump and the GOP to win again. There's no signal from the base that they care about little issues like democracy. I've said before: we get the party we deserve.

It's easier for cowards to be mad at Democrats.

most US libs actually just hate the US and loudly wish they'd rather be in Europe or Canada. so this is par for the course. i say that as a lib who hates this tendency.

If it's not new then it's extremely embarrassing that we let it get this far.

Are not SF, NYC, and DC in America? Few people have an accurate understanding of national issues.

It's imperialism. The strong prey on the weak.

1) they have often rejected this very deal in favor of what you might call brutal unrestrained capitalism by regularly voting GOP. 2) i'm more of a foreign policy wonk so I feel as if we are talking about different things when we say "foreign policy" 3) I'll take your word for it

I have three core concerns: 1) the working class is traditionally reactionary and is often willing to throw social justice aside 2) the left has no policy on anything outside of "end capitalism". no foreign policy, for example 3) the left has no methods. "general strike" is not happening.

I guess the Bay can be divided into Good Bay and Shitty Bay.

Nova Scotian-US border has like 5 people on it. Let me know when Ontario or BC does the same.

Respectfully: what are you saying? how is US hegemony in any danger right now. in a real sense not a media-driven panic sense.

Greenland should be granted independence imo.

The public hates the Dems. The Left hates the Dems. Even Democrats can't stop bashing the Democratic Party. The public opinion environment is beyond hostile. Dems right now are getting the party they deserve.

No one is pretending. Democrats put democracy on the ballot and lost. Even worse they lost because of low turnout. So what you're talking about is literally not a winning campaign strategy. Not enough Americans cared about fighting against revenge deportations and hate.
