The Mail has also seen the opinion polls and understands Trump is deeply unpopular in the UK, even among their readership. It's an easy front page that requires even less effort than their usual bilge.

Except the far right's demands were so crazy none of the other parties would agree to form a government with them. www.euronews.com/my-europe/20...

While it would reduce the operating cost of the railway over time, nationalising the ROSCO fleet would cost billions without a penny going into improving rolling stock. It would be far more cost effective for the govt to invest that money directly in new trains.

Meanwhile the cost of moving freight by rail has risen three times faster than road over the last decade: www.railpartners.co.uk/our-work/pub...

I don't see how the referendum gave Brexiters the right to dictate UK trade policy towards the EU for the rest of eternity, but everyone is behaving as if that's what happened. Starmer needs to stop tiptoeing around leave voters and the right wing press and do what's best for the UK's interests.

DSB had an option for Vectrons equipped for SE and NO but chose more DK/DE locos instead. So it needs a partner to haul these trains in SE and NO. First Talgos likely to be in service this summer on Copenhagen - Hamburg. 2026 to Oslo is a tall order, but not impossible.

430, 461, 492, 541 and 642 were also ScotRail branded IC but 461 quickly had the red stripe repainted blue.

Definitely 643, most of the ScotRail IC 47s were namers and this one had damaged yellow paintwork under the one of tail lights, which is visible in your photo.

I can just imagine how the Express would respond to any plans for car-free zones in UK cities.

My first book, a journey along the Cornish Main Line, delving into the remarkable history of the route with a focus on the many changes over the last decade. Illustrated with over 100 high-quality images of trains in the beautiful and varied Cornish landscape.

His columns about HS2 have little basis in reality, yet the Guardian keeps publishing them. He seems to know what he doesn't like but has no answers to the country's housing and infrastructure problems.

The MR is based on Class 628.0, which is long gone. The units available in DE are the more recent 628.2/628.4, which would require a new authorisation for use in DK. Some secondhand LINTs or Desiros would be better. Lokaltog has new trains coming, which will release its LINTs, but not until 2028.
