I'm Murican, but I live in Glasgow. I am militantly against excessive car use in cities.

It's a shame that building is just an island in a carpark sea. The trees do a great job hiding it though.

Literally no one does it because it's stupid suggestion. Walking means you take up twice the space, and it's much harder to manoeuvre. I just ride carefully and give way to pedestrians like I've always done.

I was there a few days ago and they were still there. Did they just move them so Angus Millar could drive through there, and then put them back?

I wonder if the city will fix it? Looks like somebody just messed with it.

Just search eBay for bike wheel lights. There is a battery pack that straps around the axel and then it's basically just Christmas lights you weave between the spokes. I think Activ Life (yes, Activ) makes them.

I've actually added more lights, tinsel, a wreath, baubles, and 2 elves since this video. I also blast Christmas music everywhere I go.

It's crazy how many people claim there's a war on motorists. There are only people defending themselves from motorists.

Many do, but they choose to ignore it

Rip that damn thing down. They've spent £150,000,000 on that one junction over the last few years with emergency repairs. It's insane that we have a motorway through the heart of the city, and even crazier that we keep spending more and more on it.

We almost moved near there. I think up that hill on the left. The views from the flat were pretty incredible.

My GSD averages about 1,600m and I have 2 kids and loads of hills. Some people have theirs last way longer than mine.

That's what churches in the US tend to look like.

It's criminal that buildings like this are left to rot.

I think they can or the economy will instantly collapse, or so I've been told.

Wait, is this article saying that the suburbs pay for the city? If so - lol.

Absolutely dangerous driving. The courts don't seem to give a shit about road violence. If speeding inches by someone in a multiton tank while on your phone and then running red lights isn't dangerous I have no idea what is.

Well she should have done something far less severe like funneling millions of PPE money meant to deal with COVID into her personal yacht. Then she'd have been given a lifetime spot in government.

Kids are evil. It's the only explanation that makes any sense.

My guess is that the government will move back towards the status quo and replace her with a Range Rover.

The problem with so many of these buildings is what's out front of them. most of these streets are just pavement and roads. There are no trees or greenery.
I feel like all these places could easily be made 5 times more attractive if the outside did the buildings justice.

I wouldn't overthink it. Twitter has been around for ages. Loads of people follow at some point then never use Twitter again. Others follow so many that they rarely engage.
Blue Sky is new, so people engage more. They also are only following those who they currently want to engage with.

I'm Scotland they just tell cyclists to eff off unfortunately. If you moan to the council on Twitter long enough they might make the area slightly manageable at best now - which is an improvement... I guess...

For me it's slightly longer but immensely more pleasant.

So much of the city is. It's sad. Was walking down Hope St yesterday thinking the same thing. Up to 4 lanes of traffic b/w some of the most beautiful buildings in the country. No idea why the city wastes 1 of its best assets. Should be a law passed that forbids cars in front of historic buildings.

I used to take that pretty often, but I haven't since the new Govan bridge was built. The tunnel isn't bad on my ebike, but no fun on my regular. That along with it randomly being shut, the weird staggered entrance, and the fact that people occasionally go down the wrong way means I won't miss it.

If that road was closed off & turned into a little park then people would be able to appreciate the building. Not only does the road ruin the feel, but being on the pavement means you're too close to really see the facade. I guess the city feels like it's better served as a car park and through-road
