Funny. Fox News asks question of a President. Real questions. And they get answers from a real President. Not softball questions. And you get triggered. But try to get NPR to ask a Dem a hard question. Biden wasn’t capable of handling off-the-cuff questions. Dems were silent for 3.5 years.

Forest and trees, Petey, forest and trees. Trump isn’t siding with Russia. He is laying groundwork for negotiations. For Ukraine and beyond. Unlike politicians generally in the US, sometimes you have to reach a middle ground to make things happen. Trump is doing that.

It’s really funny that Dems are perplexed when a supposed conservative news outlet asks hard questions of a Republican president, who actually answers the questions, while liberal news outlets NEVER ask hard questions of Democrat politicians. And of course, Biden rarely ever actually took questions.

We at least know what Peter Baker believes. Pete is anti-anything a Republican thinks. It’s his right to have those opinions. It’s just sad that he has such a loud mouthpiece, that also disguises his opinion pieces as actual journalism.

To get grants a ‘scientist’ has had to include in the proposal how the project would engage underrepresented individuals, address systemic barriers, and ensure all participants feel welcomed and valued. As if the actual science was going to be affected by that. It needs to stop and now it will.

Not true. But you be you.

Great. Maybe France will finally get its act together and develop a real economy and real military and stop bed wetting because they can’t retire at age 62 any more.

Not anti vaccine. Just anti COVID vaccine in young healthy people. Studies showed they didn’t need it. Pro athletes knew that and risked their careers and reputations by not getting it. I’m all about MMR and other vaccines. Studies show those ARE beneficial for all.

There is NO doubt Russia started that thing and are completely to blame. Horrendous. But, WWII last 5 years, WWI lasted 4. How long will Ukraine drag out? We won’t send troops, EU won’t send troops. Weapons and money alone won’t win for Ukraine. How much is enough?? Really.

A joke opinion piece masquerading as news. Trump hasn’t embraced Putin. Trump hasn’t turned on Ukraine. Trump, like half of the US, is tired of massive debt in large part caused by Europe free-loading off US military presence, and never-ending payments to Ukraine.

Gosh. If only they had also stood up to face mask mandates, school closures, and vaccine mandates during COVID, the US wouldn’t have closed down, wouldn’t have had to do a massive stimulus, and we wouldn’t have had this level of inflation!

Golly. If only Z had signed the agreement as negotiated a week before going to DC. Z pushed going to DC. He opened the wound of security guarantees on the public stage. Didn’t need to be there but wanted to be. Didn’t need to say what he said. But blame Trump.

No doubt that gas vehicles will be dominant on planet earth. Africa, South and Central America, and most of Asia won’t be able to afford ecological cost (destroying those countries’ environments to extract lithium and cobalt) and monetary cost (how to generate all that electricity?).

This is fun! Who’s using the argumentative language here? Your assumptions about me are MILES off base. I have assumptions about you, based on your responses, but I’ll keep those to myself. Keep up the nice chatter, though!
comment in response to post
Nah. Dems absolutely want EV’s as the dominant vehicles. California leads the way and automakers want to sell cars in the most populous state. Cali leads and Biden goes along. Republicans want choice, Dems want to force EV’s onto everyone.

As I said, not a defined mandate but a functional mandate. Thank goodness it was non-binding.

Comedy! Thank you!

Because you work with legacy media. And NPR may be losing a significant part of its funding soon. Maybe we’ll see you doing a podcast in 8 months. Wait, wait, please say it isn’t so.
comment in response to post
Not a defined EV mandate, but a functional EV mandate. Putting policies in place that specify X percentage of vehicle sales must be EV’s by year Y, then increasing that percentage by year Z, well, that’s a mandate in everything but name. You know this and want this to be true.

As they should have. And should do the same going forward, regardless of political party.

What? You’re listening to a rerun of Wait Wait?

So that makes him a good guy, right??
comment in response to post
Almost as much as cane-waving Al Green. But not quite. And much better behaved.

Silly. He hasn’t dismantled Social Security or Medicare or Medicaid. We ALL care about all those things. Dems and Republicans alike in government seem to think there is no end to money. But our debt IS huge. We can’t pay for everything the world wants. Has nothing to do with emotion. Just reality.

NPR fact-checking a Republican President’s speech is about as meaningful as Hamas fact-checking a Netanyahu speech.
comment in response to post
Golly! A ‘partisan address’?! By a President? Who’d a thunk? Ever describe a speech by a Democrat that way? Of course not. NPR, like NYT’s Peter Baker, is nothing more than a ‘left-wing stenographer’. That might change when federal funding gets taken away.

You are very entertaining. I may just have to follow you. Get triggered much?
comment in response to post
Nah. Your words ‘bullshit’ and ‘wipe your ass’…tough guy talk. It’s okay for you to believe white guys seem to think they should get 100% of every pie. They don’t. Many just believe in merit. It’s okay if you don’t though. You do you. And I’m sure you do.
comment in response to post
We have a President who thinks it’s time for Europe to stop sucking at the teat of America for its defense, as it has done for 80 years, and you imply that’s bad!? Why not spend money on health care, SS, and research instead of going into debt being Ukraine’s and Europe’s piggy bank backstop?
comment in response to post
But, you ARE doing tough guy language. Repeatedly. Maybe New Jersey has clouded your view? And I haven spouted a single right wing propaganda thing. I’m not right wing. Get your act together, man (?).
comment in response to post
Ooohhh. Another internet tough guy (?). I truly do understand policies. And I don’t feel the need to drop tough-guy (?) language on social media. I’ll be here a while.

Comical! Nice! ‘Qualified’, of course, being the key word. Who’s afraid of actual merit? I know that word triggers people, but merit matters. And being passed over to fill some quota creates downstream problems. Always.
comment in response to post
Comical, Pete, comical. ‘Verbal assault’. You truly are a ‘left-wing stenographer’. Your Friday report didn’t quote Zelensky at all. And no report of Chris Murphy et al meeting with Z immediately before Z’s meeting with Trump.
comment in response to post
Nope. Just Murphy’s post on X showing him across the table from Z, and saying how he met with Z just before Z’s meeting with Trump. And how Z won’t support any agreement without a security agreement. I’m sure Chris was completely supportive of what Trump’s team had already negotiated though.
comment in response to post
Pete, old boy, why not also comment on how Chris Murphy and his pals met with Z immediately before Z met with Trump, inflaming Z about security guarantees? Murphy laid the foundation for that disaster. But you be you. Blame Trump.
