Or the new CDB that was supposed to lift folks out of poverty. It's 1/3 - 1/4 of the amount the govt was told was necessary, and some provinces might still claw back your other benefits. I'll let someone more knowledgeable speak to the genocide of Indigenous folks. We are not an innocent country.

When I was a kid, abandoned to the circumstances I was born into, I learned it’s enough to do what you believe is right for as long as you can. The fantasy of being saved or becoming a savior burns up like dry leaves, but solid values pertaining to everyone’s humanity is creeping fire. It lasts.

Someone mistyped a sarcastic "Thoughts and prayers" in the work group chat at one point and it stuck. We now regularly offer "Thoughts and Pratts" along with a .gif of Chris Pratt when an arduous/stressful task needs to be dealt with.
