Try taking a look at the terms from a social construct viewpoint. Men and Women are not defined only by their sex at birth, but also in the roles the fulfill in society. That’s why we have jobs that are perceived as a “woman’s job” like nursing, or a “man’s job” like a mechanic.

Correct. And not all transgender people seek surgeries. Those that do, do so to ease that previously mentioned Gender Dysphoria. It’s less about becoming a person of the opposite sex, and more about not feeling like they live in the wrong body.
