This is a statue of Uldrich Zwingli who was an early leader in Zurich at the time when the Anabaptists emerged from his movement. Note that he is holding a sword, he died in battle fighting a Catholic army.

I asked you a month or so ago and you made some suggestions. My gf and I are big Mat Kearney fans and I’d love to meet him, but I totally understand that artists want to have privacy in their personal lives. I feel similarly about Sandra McCracken.

Over and over again Jesus promotes an ethic whereby we make our faults public but keep our good deeds private. It’s really hard to square that with this behavior, especially if we expect more from secular organizations.

Why wouldn’t this be public? I believe that all non-profits have to publish the salaries of their top 5 highest paid employees as part of public tax filings. Maybe @robertdownen.bsky.social can help?

The reason why the United States has such high numbers of Protestants historically is because those groups left Europe largely to escape Nationalism. So it’s wild and ironic to see guys like Webbon and the Wolfes embrace Nationalism.

There is no way that Tesla sells cars for more $$ than GM, Ford, Toyota and Honda and also puts them out of business- which is what their valuation implies

There’s a lot of good money to be made shorting companies like Tesla - it will eventually fall. Companies like Nvidia, Apple or Alphabet are better long term plays even if they are overpriced.

I use metoprolol succ 100 BID. But there’s good data for the superiority of carvedilolol with CHF and atrial arrhythmias.

(The idea is that it says “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” and that children of non-citizens are not subjects to US jurisdiction but the home country of their parents)

Or a rogue SCOTUS. There are already fringe legal people pushing the idea that the 14th Amendment doesn’t guarantee birthright citizenship.

Dr. Barr, I would love to get a hardcover copy of The Making of Biblical Womanhood to give as a gift. Is there a way that I could get a book to you to sign with a self addressed return package to send back?
