As the father of a HS player, thank you for coaching and I'm sorry your school's administrators are idiots.

Why does it bother me that they can't be consistent on whether Patrick is left-appendaged or right-appendaged?

Connolly is my congressman. He's a standard Dem - not great, not terrible. I don't think the ranking member makes that much difference, but I'm guessing AOC will get the gavel when they take back the majority.

He'll run for governor of Florida, after blaming Dems and RINOs for preventing him from becoming AG. And with Trump's support he'll probably win.

And Gaetz? He'll continue along the Ronny Jackson path - go home to Florida and use his beef against Dems and RINOs to run for office. With Trump's support, could anybody defeat him in the GOP primary for Florida governor in 2026? /6

As Gaetz withdraws, Trump gets to appoint an acting AG, and we all know how much Trump loves "acting" Cabinet members. Then he'll eventually find somebody else who can actually get confirmed. /5

So where does that leave Gaetz? Amid all the controversy and chaos he will withdraw his name from consideration, blaming Democrats and RINOs. It's Ronny Jackson all over again. /4

If I'm John Thune, I don't even give him a hearing. Giving Democrats a chance to question Gaetz under oath is the last thing the GOP needs right now. The recess appointment won't happen either - Dems can and will filibuster it. /3

He can sit down at his desk on January 20. So why isn't he resigning early too? It's been pretty well established that Gaetz is resigning to prevent the release of the ethics report that would have been released tomorrow. Trump is throwing him a lifeline with the AG nomination. /2

Leadership has been praising Gaetz for his decision to resign, because it allows an earlier special election to fill his seat. But of course that's not the real reason. Mike Waltz, the pick for National Security Advisor isn't even subject to Senate confirmation. /1
