HIya! Thrilled to see new/reboots in a genre that's seemed relatively static. But *was* it static? I'm too ignorant to know. I hesitate to call it a renaissance when I personally know little of the canvas at large. There could be burgeoning projects but I just haven't found them yet. 1/2

#BTG deserves its flowers for sure. Still, after a year of intense hype & PR, it'd take a serious nationwide grid outage for its premiere month NOT to beat #GH. The hope is that it keeps the momentum. Networks have long needed to treat their soaps like real TV shows, not afterthoughts.

CUE PLOT TWIST: we'd accidentally turned it into a genuinely solid saga! In '96 we started over, yanked the dumb stuff (e.g. zombie babies) & launched on the web in 97.
