Staples (the office supply store) lets you shop online and has lots of stuff you wouldn’t expect like toilet paper, paper towels and cleaning supplies - basically stuff you would have in an office bathroom or break room.

Me: Is there some other League City that I don’t know abou- HOLY SHIT they’re stealing Tesla wheels in League City 😳😳 This is like the equivalent of Orange County California legalizing weed and electing a socialist

My former boss *knew* the straw walls people! Of course they immediately got rid of the straw but it was awful. I also remember Hildy trying to dye nylon wall to wall carpet. She had no concept of how materials work.

The Libby app from your local public library let’s check out and listen to audiobooks on the app. There are also other paid apps like Kobo and Apple Books.

Do you want the event to be sponsored by the library? That means the library will use its (admittedly small) publicity budget to advertise. You will have a staff member helping you coordinate (setting up the room, introducing you). If so, call and ask for the person in charge of adult programming.

What Texty said; you are likely better off going to Mexico. If you can get together enough money you can get a temporary resident visa that’s good for up to four years.

It’s got big “What did you do to make him hit you?” energy. Of course you didn’t do anything but also, of course, they’re never going to admit that it wasn’t your fault.

Why do they love them so much when they’re falling apart??

We’ve had some luck looking up the manufacturer online and buying directly from them, when we can’t find things locally. Sometimes you have to pay for shipping but it’s worth it not to buy from Amazon.

Apart from the news part, I love the fact that OZ thinks that if the Woman is throwing up, what she needs is company and an audience 😁

If the goal is just “get rid of Musk and Trump” people like this might sign on because they’re mad that they didn’t get what they wanted. BUT if the goal is “actual working democracy” people like this are not going to be on board unless they change their ways

They have done this for ages, so many ages that they detained my dad when he was a kid.

As of a couple of years ago, they could not force you to put in your code to unlock your phone but it was less clear from a legal standpoint whether they could force you to use your fingerprint or Face ID. I don’t know where that stands now.

A lot of messaging from Dems is “We will explain the factual details of this issue, and when we’ve made you care about it you will vote for us.” But you can’t talk people into caring about stuff they don’t care about. You have to start with what’s important to them.

- Also! If you really want your teen character to be embarrassed about therapy or sullen and uncommunicative with the therapist it’s your choice, but remember it’s 2025. Many teens are aware of the benefits of therapy and don’t think it’s weird or stigmatizing.

- The adolescent therapists I know are some of the best, most badass, most empathetic people on the planet. Please don’t base your therapist character on the HR person at your job or on a teacher you hated. Don’t make the “therapy session” be icebreaker games or a knockoff AA meeting.

I’m guessing it was the release of Mad Max: Furiosa in the same month as Dua Lipa’s Eternal Optimism album. The Republic didn’t stand a chance

Yep, that is fine! You want the seeds out there in the cold. Just let the bottles get covered with snow. If you have a chinook, don’t let them get too warm. They’ll start coming up in the spring and the containers will be little greenhouses.

This is a good time to winter sow lettuce! Get clear plastic containers from your recycling, punch holes in the tops and the bottoms (if it’s a bottle, cut it in half first) and fill the bottom with 4” of dirt. Put seeds on top, tape the top (w/holes) on, and leave it outside!

Whose job is it to say “Nazi salute” instead of “controversial gesture,” “Roman salute,” “straight-arm salute,” “straight arm gesture,” and about 10 more weasel expressions I found all over the news? If not a single news outlet can figure out what everyone’s eyes saw, I don’t give them any credit.

Stencils with chalk paint work great, especially if they have some cover (like an underpass). You can paint directly on snow with food coloring. Another option might be something that’s intended to be taken away, like scarves with messages wrapped around trees for anyone who needs them.
