I recently watched the original IT and felt exactly the same about it. I really enjoyed the characters and their interactions, but it never came even close to being scary. Sounds like it was an accurate remake then.

The Last Unicorn is great! I love children's movies that aren't afraid to get a little dark, especially those from the 80s.

The PS3/360 is really the only console wars I was actively aware of. I started gaming with the PS1, and it and the PS2 far outperformed its competition so there wasn't really a console war to speak of.

Gotta love that Hammer gothic horror vibe

The segment he wrote for the last VHS movie that his wife directed was also good, easily the best segment of the movie

I Iove The Motion Picture! I feel like it got unfairly maligned because it was released in the wake of Star Wars and people were expecting something similar to that. Instead it's more similar to 2001 A Space Odyssey

Did you play the original version? The Scholar of the first Sin version makes a lot of changes

There's actually a movie about this! It's called Please Stand By from 2017. One of the few movies I've seen that handles an autistic character well.

Outer Wilds is so good! Also nice for picking DS2, it gets way too much hate. I enjoy it just as much as the other 2.

The animation is sooo bad, but as a show it's pretty entertaining and it really gets out there sometimes. Like that episode where they meet the devil in the centre of the galaxy where magic is real after which they go to a dimension where the victims of the Salem witch trials put them on trial.

It's funny that they're making escape room video games now, since escape rooms were inspired by those escape the room flash games from back in the day. The circle is complete

I definitely visualise things in my mind like a movie. There's been times where I couldn't remember if a story I have in my memory was a book I read or a movie I watched.

You're in luck, Letterboxd is adding tv shows sometime in the future!

I've seen those! I unfortunately didn't like Wind Rises as much as other Miyazaki movies, maybe because of the lack of fantastical elements that I really enjoy in his works.

The PS2 is still the greatest console ever made in my opinion. No other console can match its endless amount of great games, both classics and lesser known gems.

We need more space horror. Space is absolutely terrifying to me, just the fact that we could be wiped out at any second by some unknown space phenomenon is not a fun thought.

Did I miss some sort of controversy with Goodreads that people are looking for alternatives?
