19. It Takes Two This game throws idea after idea at you at such a fast pace and somehow they all landed and impressed me. Incredibly fun and charming all around, very happy to have finally experienced it. Also I learned I’m better at button mashing and chess than @kohana64.bsky.social 😏

17. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 An absolute masterpiece of a game. I did take issue with some gameplay and story choices, but overwhelmingly, my time spent with this game was in a state of pure disbelief. I can easily call this one of the all-time greats of RPGs, and video games at large.

16. Split Fiction Great co-op game with a lot of neat ideas and a unique story. I could not be made to care about the characters at all, though, and the pacing isn’t as smooth as It Takes Two. I would absolutely recommend it, regardless! Will definitely be a gaming highlight this year

15. Mother 3 I found myself enamored with how this game manages to balance the quirky, eccentric vibes of the Mother series with a genuinely powerful story about grief, loss, and capitalism. Totally get the hype and it’s a new all-timer for me

What retailer? I got one from Walmart, but I'm skeptical, because I've had them randomly cancel orders in the past.

14. 10 Things I Hate About You Watched with some friends and had a good enough time. Kind of a dumb movie, but still iconic.

13. Sinners On paper, this feels like it would be two incoherent movies awkwardly stitched together. But then you actually watch it and understand how flawlessly these two parts blend together and build on each other. It is a testament to the power of art in more ways than one.

12. Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga Ended up liking this one a lot more than I thought I would. Really fun combat and a charming, unique world to explore. Some great puzzles with the partner abilities, too. One of the best GBA games, no doubt.

11. Undertale Even if this isn't quite a new favorite of mine, I found a lot to appreciate about this game, especially the soundtrack. The characters and jokes didn't always land with me, which is kind of what this game hinges on, but I am certainly interested in playing Deltarune in the future.

Nothing, and that isn’t my point. But if you were to ask me if I preferred MP4 be: a) S1 exclusive b) Cross-gen game c) S2 exclusive 6 months ago, I would’ve said C, so that the game was designed without any S1 limitations. Now, it’s up in the air if I’ll even be able to play it on S2.

10. EarthBound Such a charming little game. If I were not playing this game across many weeks in relatively short bursts on my Switch, some of its flaws would have probably annoyed me a lot more, but it is a classic I am glad to finally have under my belt.
