I'm ignorant to the state of decline, and curious of the cause. Is it due to TV drying up and taking the money with it? I once read this is what caused the "dark age of animation" in America, starting in 1960, when hollywood studios closed their shorts divisions. Perhaps a similar event's unfolding.

I like David Lynch's perspective on this matter. The Vulture has rerun this story in light of his recent passing, and I encourage all to read it. In particular, I think his view on good artists being bad people effectively captures the complexity of being human. www.vulture.com/article/davi...

Every once in a while, I like when games enforce that urgency. Closest example to yours in mind is the first hostage mission in Deus Ex Human Revolution. Pretty rare in my experience though.
