You know where you can go and not worry about breaking the economic blackout today? Your local library! All those books and you won’t spend a penny!

🤍🤍🤍

If you’ve ever taken the oath to uphold the Constitution, this is the time to live up to it.

Folks: I am NOT affiliated with the group that is using my name to support an economic boycott. Please spread this post, if you would.

Look all I’m saying is the dinosaurs didn’t have access to public libraries and look what happened to them

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world. Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

SPEAKING OF GARDENS yall better have library cards. Some (most!!) public library systems have seed libraries and libraries of things where you can borrow things you may not need to own. Also libraries are revolutionary and librarians have always been on the front lines

As expected, the Trump team is already deleting climate info from government websites. In anticipation, our team at Urban Ocean Lab created a permanent archive of 100+ key resources and published a permanent archive: www.urbanoceanlab.org/resource-hub 👩🏽‍💻

Vote for and support your local library!

I have always loved public libraries, but having young children has exponentially increased my gratitude and sense of indebtedness to them. Our local library is such a huge part of our lives. The books, the programming, the very intentionally curated kids’ section. It’s all such a gift.

As we get to the end of another year, just remember you don't have to size up your whole life right now, or compare your accomplishments, or decide exactly who you are. Just keep growing at your own pace. And take a little nap. ❤️

It’s simple: if you consider what the average U.S. household pays for library services (~$7.50/month) and put that next to a public library’s vast offerings, the point is obvious.

Did you know that you should end your alt text with a period? "End alt text with a period, even if it isn’t a full sentence. The period ensures that the screen reader pauses after reading the alt text." This was a new tip for me. Glad to learn something new! www.nngroup.com/articles/wri...

Proof your public library loves you: they leave you alone while you read, they don’t mind when you bring your kids over, and they’ll let you borrow any of their books, even the hardcovers
