Too bad I've been missing him. Looking forward to January to see Kotozakura!

Going on a tangent here, but I used your API to collect some rikishi data as a way to learn more about sumo and use it for data cleaning and machine learning practice. I learned a lot from it.
Thank you ๐โโ๏ธ

Thanks for the link! This is really helpful - we're still learning as we go, but it's always fun to watch. Nice to meet you too. ๐

Interesting. Iโm still pretty new to sumo and havenโt seen Terunofuji since heโs been out for at least the last two basho.

I'm so used to seeing Hoshoryu looking angry and aggressive.
More of the smiling, chill Hoshoryu please.

The place looks familiar, may I ask where this is taking place?

Knitting would be one of the oldest skill I have.๐
I think designing and interpreting patterns to knit something is pretty tech savvy!

No - I'm the first person in my family to get a college degree. My dad was a mason and my mom was a food service manager.
I started in chemistry and am making a pivot to data.

I designed one of my projects to be deployed on Streamlit, but I could only get it to run locally before the assignment was due. The model data required was too large to run on their cloud

I've worked with similar tools, primarily Jupyter notebooks, and have recently been exploring AWS and SageMaker for a volunteer project. Additionally, Iโve used Streamlit for a project and have worked with VSCode. Currently, Iโm learning about AI agents using Flowise. Dabbled in Tableau as well.

๐Hello! Yes I have heard that many people have got into data from doing somewhat unrelated work. The last few years of my chemistry career involved zero wet chemistry work and just analyzing the data.
I liked working with the data more than working at the bench and decided to try a pivot.

The user types the name of a pattern they like and the application will make an educated guess based on what was typed. The model suggests five patterns based on details about the pattern the use typed in (like overall rating and yarn gauge).
I linked the repo which has code and details.

I wrote a Python script to pull data for ~15,000 hat, pullover, and sock patterns. I cleaned up the data and used it to create an unsupervised model, then hosted it on Streamlit. I haven't found a way to host it publically that is free or can deal with the very large dataset.
